A new set up for Tube Chute moved operations out in front rather than inside the building. The Junior Ranger Program was created to get kids out and exploring New Braunfels parks. Analysis of the Landa Park picnic area usage led to picnic table reorganization and the addition of ten areas. SECURED
$12,155,000 approved in the 2023 Bond for Mission Hill Park-Phase 2. $82,000 raised for the New Braunfels Cemetery Field of Graves Memorial. $3.5 Million in additional funding approved from NBEDC for the Zipp Family Sports Park. $100,000 approved for picnic table replacements in Landa Park. EXPERIENCED
Das Rec celebrated 5 years on July 21st and hit a record 18,301 members in August. The Landa Park Golf Course experienced 59,049 rounds of golf played, a 2% increase over last year. 321 Veterans Memorial Bricks have been installed at the New Braunfels Veterans Memorial. Park Rangers experienced a record number of picnic sales in June and July totaling over $25,000. Park Rangers attended the Park Law Enforcement Association National Conference in Tennessee PROVIDED
269 families benefitted from summer day camps at Landa and Fischer Parks. 1,208 hours of water safety instruction led during the summer. Park Operations provided assistance to the City of Round Rock Parks and Recreation with freeze clean-up after they lost several thousand trees. $1,500 donated to Comal County Charities from Live @ Landa concerts. COMPLETED
170 trees planted at Fischer Park from grants provided by Meritage Homes, the Arbor Day Foundation, and Rush Enterprises. The LPAC Parking Lot was fully renovated with help from the Habitat Conservation Plan which included a redesign to include riparian zone for drainage to filter surface drainage before reaching the Comal River. The new Main Plaza Bandstand Sound System was installed and replaced all speakers and components. The Parks Administration Building was renovated in-house that included new flooring, sheetrock, paint, lighting and doors.
