Das Rec Homeschool P.E. offers activities that promote physical exercise, social skills, and sportsmanship. Your kids are encouraged to develop a healthy lifestyle through team sports, group games, and fitness activities, all while taking care of your physical education credits.

TRI DAS - INDOOR TRIATHLON

Not ready for a full distance Triathlon? Always wanted to “Tri” one? Here’s your chance! This indoor triathlon series consists of a 10-minute swim, 30-minute bike, and 20-minute run. Great for beginners and experienced triathletes alike! Test your fitness with this great event! Must sign up before January 14 to guarantee a T-Shirt. Awards given for top female and male finishers in each age division. The staff at Das Rec are committed to providing reasonable accommodations to all participants.

Pilates with Pups

Join us for the epitome of exercise combined with fur baby overload! Join us at Das Rec on our back lawn as we host a Pilates class with man’s best friend. Animals will be available for adoption. All proceeds go to the New Braunfels Humane Society.

JR. & SR. KARATE CLASS

Hill Country Karate’s certified instructors began teaching American Karate in 1983 to people of all ages, utilizing positive instructional methods. All instructors are required to complete extensive certification programs emphasizing safety and positive professional teaching. Karate improves self-discipline, coordination, self-respect, and selfconfidence. All white martial arts uniform with elastic waistband required and may be purchased at class for $35.

MEET OUR TRAINERS

ANGELINE FLETCHER, AFAA-CPT

Angie holds a degree in dance education and is certified as a Texas Dance Educator. She also holds her personal training certification from AFAA. Angie specializes in flexibility and endurance, cardio and group conditioning, senior and children’s fitness, and injury prevention. When Angie isn’t training or dancing she enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, reading, and traveling.

TINA OLCOTT, NASM-CPT

Tina is energetic with an outgoing personality that is passionate about fitness. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Science Education and is an NASM Certified Personal Trainer. Tina’s passion and knowledge of fitness comes from the many hours of training she has done to prepare for triathlons, obstacle course races, and long-distance cycling and running. Her goal as a trainer is to motivate her clients and build a fitness program that meets their specific health and wellness goals. She enjoys researching and exploring new creative ways to make working out enjoyable while also accomplishing your goals. Tina is an early riser and looks forward to being part of starting your morning on a positive note.

LISA POKORNY, NASM-CPT

Originally hailing from the northwest suburbs of Chicago, IL, Lisa has spent her entire life being active in some form or fashion. She started gymnastics at a young age and played travel soccer, dabbling in dance, softball and basketball. Movement and fitness keep her positive and motivated and she enjoys helping others achieve their goals and live an active and healthy lifestyle. When she’s not working, you can find her practicing aerial silks and trapeze, reading, crafting or relaxing. She holds a BA in public relations and advertising from DePaul University and is a NASM certified personal trainer. JESSICA GLORIA, ACE-CPT

Joseph Pilates once said "It is the mind that shapes the body." Jessica firmly believes that approaching wellness with kindness to oneself and integrity in one's practice yields results that stand the test of time. She plans sessions around the need for both resistance and restoration and encourage students to treat every level of intensity, or lack thereof, with equal intention. Through heavy focus on form, breath and functional movement with gradual progression, her hope for you is a higher quality of life and a deeper understanding of how strong and capable your body is. Kari finds true enjoyment from seeing people reach their goals and feel great about themselves. That’s why she is an ISSA certified personal trainer and has a passion for teaching group fitness. She believes every client is unique and can help them achieve their goals and push past any barrier. She specializes in weight loss, group training and corrective exercise. When she’s not in the gym, you can find Kari outdoors, traveling and spending time with her husband and son.

VANESSA TERPENNING, AFAA-CPT

Vanessa is a graduate of Texas State University, she holds a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. She also holds her personal training certification from AFFA and is a NASM Fitness Nutrition Specialist. Vanessa believes in making your health and fitness journey a lifestyle. Vanessa specializes in weight management, strength training, endurance and high intensity training. When she isn’t training, Vanessa loves being outdoors, especially near the water, spending time with family, church, and worship and spending time in the world.

JILLIAN MOORE, ISSA-CPT

Jillian’s goal as a trainer is to encourage her clients in their health journey, help them meet their goals and build confidence, and find what works for them so that health and fitness can be lifelong. She specializes in flexibility and mobility, strength and conditioning, athletic performance, fat loss and muscle building. After 2 shoulder surgeries that took her out of contact sports, she shifted her workouts from athletic-based to include more strength training, mobility, and functional movement. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or you’ve never stepped foot in a gym, Jillian is ready to help you meet your goals whatever they are!

TERRIE SHORTSLEEVE, ACSM-CPT

Terrie likes to think of fitness as a journey rather than a destination. It’s a journey that is meant for people to explore different areas of fitness and find what way they love to move their bodies. Even better: it’s a journey that it’s never too late to start! Whatever challenges people face, their lives can always be improved through fitness. Small steps done consistently can add up to big changes!
