WELCOME PART Y AT EDDIE DEEN’S RANCH TUESDAY, JULY 14, 6 P.M.
Evening entertainment provided by United Country and Texas Auction Academy There’ll be some hootin’ and hollerin’ going on in downtown Dallas when NAA hosts a Texas-style shindig at Eddie Deen’s Ranch. Get all gussied-up and don your favorite hat and dancin’ boots for a one-of-a kind true Texas experience! Strap on a handmade leather holster with a replica .45 caliber revolver and put your gun-slinging skills to the test in the Old West Quick Draw contest. Learn how to rope from the pros as Lil Lupe the Trick Roper makes a valiant attempt to teach guests how to rope using a mechanical horse/calf that rodeo stars use to sharpen their skills. And for dinner, there’s no surprise here. Experience authentic Texas BBQ served with all the fixins’ that you’d expect. Get down and cool the seat of your saddle to witness something very special from a band that’s been entertaining audiences with its own genre-busting music for four decades. United Country and Texas Auction Academy is pleased to provide your evening entertainment - nine-time Grammy winners Ray Benson and Asleep at the Wheel! “We’re a dance band. That’s what we’re about. And that’s plenty.” – Ray Benson. The musicianship of Asleep at the Wheel has become the stuff of legends. Reuters pegged The Wheel as one of the best live acts in the business. Their awards include Touring Band of the Year (CMAs, 1976) and Lifetime Achievement in Performance (Americana Music Awards 2009), not to mention near dominance of the GRAMMY Country Instrumental category over the years. Over their history, Asleep at The Wheel released more than 25 studio and live albums, and there is no sign of slowing down any time soon.
