asu university center

This was an adaptive reuse studio, focusing on in-depth facade development for a building on the ASU Downtown Campus. My design intentions were to open the ground floor with an arcade, develop a shading facade that maximizes views, creates movement, and identifies with ASU, and include a light glass box through the core, creating a beacon of light. 5th yr ; Prof. Wendell Burnette ; Fall 2016

unlv pavilion

This project started as a folding paper technique workshop, where i experimented with different forms through folding. I then transferred this concept into the computer, and created this shape through transformations based on sun angles, pedestrian traffic flow, and ventilation. The pavilion is to be used by students, faculty, or anyone on campus for relaxing or getting away from the hot vegas sun. 3rd yr ; Prof. Deborah Oakley ; Spring 2015

arroyo grande library

The arroyo grande library was a design problem to engage the hillside terrain, explore different design concepts, use structure expressively, and design a library with inspiration from our class trip to phoenix. My design was a linear concept that was inspired by the South Mountain Community Library. 3rd yr ; Prof. Deborah Oakley ; Fall 2014

ARROYO GRANDE LIBRARY

05 lake tahoe ticket booth

This design-build studio project is for the Shakespeare Festival in South Lake Tahoe. The task was to construct a ticket booth designed by the previous studio class. I was ver y involved, having tasks such as ordering windows and doors, and marking and cutting sip panels for the floor, walls, and roof. I also helped with nailing, flashing on openings, cutting wood, and cleaning up. to physically build an actual structure was a ver y rewarding and enlightening experience. 3rd yr ; Prof. Eric Weber ; Fall 2015

The North American Shed

snow loads

is a historical symbol of the outdoors. The Shed serves as a quiet counterpoint to the powerfully evocative landscape of the Northern Sierras, opening toward the landscape and the building’s users.

cross ventilation Caretaker’s Garage and Workshop, Riverside Park, Washington

We see the Shed as a vessel for both work and self-reliance. Our proposal snowtheloads cross reinterprets shed archetype while maintaining its place of origin. In this way, our scheme is a celebration of the livelihood and history of the people of Northern Nevada. Its form and materials are derived from the integrity of this special place.
