ALUMNI NEWS Kevonne Holloway (’00) Appointed

Managing Director, Global Education, Reference and Continuity (ERC) at Elsevier

Congratulations to NCCU Class of 2000 alumna Kevonne Holloway, was recently announced the Managing Director, Global Education, Reference and Continuity (ERC) at Elsevier, a global leader in information and analytics that helps researchers and healthcare professionals' advance science and improve health outcomes for the benefit of society.

The ERC team publishes content for Elsevier’s books, eBooks, and digital solutions. In her new role, Kevonne will lead a team of more than 300 employees in creating, commissioning, and delivering high quality content through all pre-publication stages for customers in clinical, education and science settings.

The content produced by the ERC team provides the foundation for nursing and medical school education. It is often sought by healthcare educators and is widely used by practicing clinicians and researchers worldwide. Kevonne’s leadership will ensure the ERC team upholds the highest standards of quality and integrity to ensure value to our customers.

“I am both honored and humbled to lead Elsevier’s incredibly talented Global Education, Reference and Continuity team in this important work,” said Holloway. “We will continue to provide best-in-class content for our customers, and I look forward to expanding Elsevier’s digital solutions to further enhance their experience.”

Kevonne will also continue acting as a leading member and decisive voice on Elsevier’s Race and Ethnicity Task Force, which is committed to eradicating racial bias from healthcare.

ALUMNI NEWS HR Alumnus Drake Dais (’20)

Passes SHRMCP Professional Certification Exam

Drake Dais (HRM, Spring 2020) passed the SHRMCP exam and has earned the SHRM-CP Professional Certification. Exam application for new graduates considers degree completion, degree granting institution SHRM academic alignment and 500 hours of work experience inclusive of internships. While at NCCU, Drake completed HR internships with Lenovo and JPMorgan Chase & Co. She was the 2019 student SHRM Chapter President and was a member of the 2019 and 2020 Carolinas SHRM Case Competition winning NCCU Teams. She is also a member of Beta Gamma Sigma. Currently, she is an HR Analyst in the 2020 HR Analyst Development Program with JPMorgan Chase & Co.

Secures a Role as a SEM analyst with Markle, Inc.

Calesha Lucas graduated from UNCG with a Master’s in Business Administration and a concentration in Marketing in 2021 and has secured a job at Merkle Inc. as a SEM Analyst.

ALUMNI NEWS Iris L. Hudson (‘71) recently re-

appointed to the Pamlico Community College (PCC) Board of Trustees

Iris L. Hudson (71) School of Business alumnus, was recently re-appointed to the Pamlico Community College (PCC) Board of Trustees by NC Governor Roy Cooper. Iris is deeply honored to serve a second term on PCC’s Trustee Board, where she was selected as Chairperson of the Personnel Committee and a member of the Policy Committee.

PCC is currently ranked Number 1 nationwide for student educational outcomes from WalletHub. In addition, PCC was recently ranked Number 2 as the best community college in America by Smart Asset. This national finance technology company used U.S. Department of Education data for more than 800 community colleges across the USA for its publication, Best Community Colleges in America- 2021 Edition.

Iris is a retired Associate Director from the Department of Homeland Security Audit Liaison Office and Inspectors General Offices in Washington, DC. She is a life member of the NCCU National Alumni Association and continues to be a member of the NCCU-DC Metro Alumni Chapter.

Iris is also a caregiver to her loving Mother on the coast of NC, a mentor and an active member in church and community affairs. Iris says her retirement has been both busy and rewarding.
