THE Beach From Atlantic Beach, the oldest of the five beach towns that dot Bogue Banks, to Emerald Isle, the largest, visitors find mile after mile of sun, sand and surf. The collection of communities feature a variety of accommodations, restaurants and shopping. The area, while limited in full-time population, swells each summer as second home owners and vacationers make the trek to the shore.

RUNNING IN THE SAND: Carteret County Parks and Recreation’s popular Beach Run Series is in full swing with races at 6:30pm on select Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Atlantic Beach Circle. Upcoming races are slated for June 5 & 19, July 17 and Aug. 2 & 16. Event includes 1-mile, 5K and 10K runs. Registration begins at 5:15pm. Cost is $7 per person. Register online at ccpr.recdesk.com.

DOUGHNUTS WITH DINOS: Dinosaurs are visiting the NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores this summer. The massive animatronics creatures provide a great segue to learning more about the Triassic, J u rassic and Cretaceous periods. Youngsters age 3 and up can get a behind-the-scenes visit each Tuesday through August – and enjoy Doughnuts with Dinos from 8-9am. The cost is $20. Reserve a spot by calling a 252247-4003.

HELPING HAND: The NC Coastal Federation is seeking volunteers for a beach clean-up on Jones Island from 10am-1pm on Tuesday, June 5. In addition to picking up trash, the volunteers will also record data on the types of debris collected to help identify the source. Volunteers will meet at 9:45am at Hammocks Beach State Park for boat transportation. Register online at www.nccoast.org/event.

JR. RANGERS: Youngsters will have an opportunity to pick up a Jr. Ranger badge this summer at Fort Macon State Park. The program, geared toward children ages 6-12, allows the children to work with a park ranger and see behind-the-scenes of this popular tourist attraction. Kids must be accompanied by a parent. The program will be held on June 7, 13, 18, 27; July 12 & 26; and Aug. 9, 15 & 20. Register in advance by calling 252-726-3775.

Cape Lookout National Seashore Best known for its towering lighthouse covered in black and white diamonds, Cape Lookout National Seashore is a 56-mile stretch of North Carolina’s Outer Banks, spanning from Ocracoke Inlet to Beaufort Inlet. Three pristine barrier islands make up the national seashore – North Core Banks, South Core Banks and Shackleford Banks. Accessible only by private boat or ferry, this incredible ribbon of sand hosts unparalleled fishing, shelling and a working lighthouse. The undeveloped seashore allows for true-to-nature camping, features a restored lighthouse keeper’s quarters, a boardwalk to the beach and regular ranger programs in the summer. Ferry transportation to the islands is available from both Beaufort and Harkers Island. Call 252728-7433 for pricing and reservations. North and South Core Banks, both noted for wonderful shelling, clamming and surf fishing, offer rustic cabins as an alternative to camping from April through November. Many visitors come to the

National Seashore to view, and climb, and lighthouse, a landmark since 1859. On. On Shackleford Banks, history may wander past you in the form of the Shackleford Banks wild horses. The Light Station Visitor Center, found near the lighthouse ferry dock, houses exhibits on lighthouse history and early shipwrecks and rescues. The seashore’s main visitor center is located on Harkers Island, which houses additional exhibits. An indoor theater offers a short film and a nature trail winds along the shore to an observation deck overlooking Core Sound. Public restrooms and a nearby picnic area are available and wheelchair accessible. For more information call 252-728-2250 or visit www.nps.gov/calo. All visitors should remember this is a remote, natural territory with no food vendors, limited fresh water access and no lifeguards. Be prepared to bring in everything you may need during your visit and carry out all that bring in.

AT THE AQUARIUM The aquarium is bringing the past to life, as it becomes a time machine for the summer of 2018. Travel back to the days of dinosaurs and hear them roar! You will be greeted by a life-sized tyrannosaurus rex. The 21-foot-tall, bird-like Utahraptor, the long-necked brachiosaurus and other bygone beasts seemingly come to life as you approach. You might want to duck when you pass the two dilophosauruses – unless you want to get soaked. Dinosaurs 2018 features several species of life-sized, realistic, animatronic creatures, most of them from the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. Enjoy this experience free with admission or membership, but don’t wait too long. The Dinosaurs 2018 are only here for a limited time. Programs free with admission such as animal feedings and animal encounters are offered daily throughout May. Many more programs and occasions join the line-up in early June, including: Free fun filled activities emphasize small things anyone can do to enhance ocean health during World Oceans Weekend, June 8-9. Stand-up paddle boarding, kayak excursions or other outdoor adventures are offered daily in the summer for

additional fees. Kids Night Out offers parents the opportunity to hit the town after hours while providing kids a special night out at the Aquarium. Dinner, crafts, programs and activities included. Extend your aquarium visit with a variety of specialized behind-the-scenes tours with special viewing for sharks, otters, sea turtles and more. See the website for the full schedule and be sure to sign up ahead of time. Programs fill quickly so advance registration is recommended for all fee-based programs. Summer is for the birds at the aquarium. A Bird’s-Eye View opens for its ninth season with an all new show. Arrive early for this popular, free program starring native raptors and water birds soaring overhead in Big Rock Theater. A Bird’s-Eye View is offered daily at 11am and 2pm. The NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores is 5 miles west of Atlantic Beach at 1 Roosevelt Blvd., Pine Knoll Shores, NC 28512. The aquarium is open 9am-5pm daily. For more information, see www.ncaquariums.com/pine-knoll-shores or call 252-247-4003.

Buddy Tournament Set for July 28-29

One of Bogue Banks most beloved events returns to the Oceana Pier in Atlantic Beach this summer. The Buddy Pelletier Memorial Longboard Classic takes over the seashore July 28-29, luring amateurs and professionals alike for a little friendly competition in a variety of categories. Annually, competitors range in age from 8 to 55 and over. The surfing competition isn’t just for surfers, though. Entry fees, T-shirt sales and other donations help fund three college scholarships to members of the East Coast surfing community. For many, this mid-summer contest has become a tradition, not only for the prime chance to catch a few waves, but also to pay homage to the competition’s namesake, Buddy Pelletier. A top-ranked professional surfer and three-time winner of the Puerto Rican National Longboard Championship, Pelletier came home to the Crystal Coast in the early 1990s to spend his final days with friends and family before succumbing to cancer. It is through those same friends and family members, as well as new ones made along the way, that his legacy lives on through 16

www.nccoast.com

the nonprofit Buddy Pelletier Surfing Scholarship Foundation, which provides humanitarian aid and scholarships to the surfing community. Longboards, unlike their shorter counterparts, allow competitors to ride even the smallest of waves, leaving onlookers with plenty of action to take in and giving entrants the opportunity to showcase their skill. While adult boards measure about nine feet, junior boards must be three feet longer than the youngster’s height. The annual competition is sanctioned by the Eastern Surfing Association and sponsored by AB Surf Shop. Entry fees start at just $25 for all age divisions. Surfing begins each day at 7am and generally lasts until 5pm on Saturday. A beach party with live music by local favorite Selah Dub is planned for Saturday evening at 7pm. The awards ceremony takes place Sunday afternoon. The entry form and additional information about the contest, sponsorship opportunities and the foundation can be found at www.buddypelletier.com

THE MAINLAND From Cape Carteret on the shores of the White Oak River to the downtown Morehead City waterfront, the small communities that dot the Carteret County mainland are as eclectic as their residents. As the retail hub of the region, centrallylocated Morehead City is a haven for shoppers with its small boutiques and major chain stores. But don’t overlook the smaller communities as each has a flavor all its own and plenty of treasures to explore. TELL ME MORE, TELL ME MORE: Visit the halls of Rydell High School as Carteret Community Theatre in Morehead City brings “Grease” to the stage. You know the songs, you know the dialogue, don’t pass up a chance to tap your toes and sing along as the theater’s cast of thespians brings this classic to life. General admission is $18-$24. Shows run June 29-July 1 and July 6-8. Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7:30pm and Sunday matinees begin at 2pm.

CRASHING FOR FUN: We can’t decide if you have to be brave or just crazy to participate in a Demolition Derby, but it sure seems to bring a whole bunch of nostalgia along with a mild sense of satisfaction for anyone who has a love/hate relationship with their automobile. The Newport Flea Mall hosts two nights of fun – and destruction – June 22-23. Gates open at 6pm and the show starts at 8. Save by buying tickets online at www.newportfleamall.com.

PADDLEPALOOZA: Join the folks at Swansboro Parks and Recreation and Pogie’s Fishing Center for Pogie’s PaddlePalooza, 8am3pm on Saturday, June 16. If interested in paddle sports, this is the day to learn more about it. Demonstrations, guided paddles, kayak and stand up paddle races, vendors, fishing clinics and more come together for a day full of water sports. Register online by visiting swansboro.recdesk.com.

READY FOR SOME BASEBALL?: Games are in full swing with a packed summer calendar for the Morehead City Marlins, part of the Coastal Plain League. Games run through early August at Big Rock Stadium in Morehead City. Check out the schedule at mhcmarlins.com for promotional nights and special events.

Get in the Groove

Summertime Jams Sun, sand, music – the magic recipe for a perfect day along the Crystal Coast. And thankfully to an array of outdoor music series, there are plenty of opportunities to put those ingredients into the blender. Few things are as ideal as sitting next to the water, a warm breeze rippling up off the water and the sounds of music wafting through the air. Downtown Morehead City’s Alive at Five program holds concerts twice a month and strike a note as the work day closes on a Friday. Held at Jaycee Park on the Morehead City waterfront, the free performances begin at 5pm. This month, music lovers can expect to hear The Bounce Party and Liquid Pleasure. For more information, call 252-808-0440 or visit www.downtownmoreheadcity.com. Also using Jaycee Park as the backdrop is the Morehead City Parks and Recreation Dept., which holds weekly Concerts in the Park each Saturday night through August with a bonus performance on July 4. Concerts run from 7-8:30pm. Bring chairs or blanket, or anchor nearby in the boat to enjoy the sounds of Red and White Hots, 4EverAll, Liquid

Pickle and others during June. To learn more, call 252-726-5083. In Beaufort, Thursday evening is the night for live music. Head down to the waterfront for its season Live on Thursdays series that brings music in a variety of genres during the summer months. Amidst a beautiful historic backdrop, the Friends of Fort Macon hold regular Concerts in the Fort. Performances begin at 6:30pm on various Fridays with a few 1pm Saturday matinees thrown into the mix. The series sees bands perform on the parade deck of the fort and guests finding a resting spot on the stairs and grass that surround the stage. June performers include The Morehead City Brass Consortium, Telluride and Saltwater Gold. For more information, call 252-726-3775. At the other end of Bogue Banks, Emerald Isle’s EmeraldFest music series takes full advantage of those ocean breezes at the Western Ocean Regional Beach Access. The concerts, beginning on Thursday, June 7 with Pure T Mommicked, bring a variety of genres to the stage, from country and blues to reggae and rock. Music runs from 6:308pm each Thursday through August. To learn more, call 252-354-6350. Neighboring Swansboro holds its own concert series, aptly named SwanFest. Running Sunday evenings through Sept. 2, concerts are held from 6:30-8pm at the pavilion at Olde Town Square along the downtown waterfront. For any of the concerts mentioned, lawn chairs, blankets and other comfort items are welcome. Alcohol is prohibited although guests are welcome to bring non-alcoholic beverages and snacks to enjoy.

BEAUFORT & DOWN EAST While Beaufort offers a beautiful walking waterfront, the picturesque Down East communities of Carteret County, many of which are part of a Scenic Byway, provide a great opportunity for a car trip. Beaufort (pronounced “Bō-furt”), is well deserving of its “America’s Coolest Small Town” title bestowed in 2012 by Budget Travel, with its eclectic blend of history and the contemporary amenities we have all grown to appreciate. BARTA’S WAY: Anglers can drop a line for a great cause this summer. The Barta Billfish Tournament, a catch and release competition, helps raise much needed funds for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Coastal Carolina. Planned for July 12-14, the event gets youngsters out on the water for some hands-on fishing experience and a chance to walk away with memories that will last a lifetime. Register at bartabillfish.com. FULL STEAM AHEAD: Learn about wetlands restoration, the local seafood industry and ways to keep our waterways clean among other topics as the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum offers Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math). June 18-22 is reserved for rising 1st-3rd graders and June 25-29 for rising 4th-6th graders. The cost is $60 and the program runs from 10am-3pm. For additional information, or to sign up, email teresaeverett@coresound.com.

ROAD RACE: The always-popular Historic Beaufort Road Race returns to Front Street on Saturday, July 21 with a 10K, 5K and 1-mile run along with 10K and 5K wheelchair events , a 5K baby jogger race and 5K and 1-mile timed walks. 58th Annual Old Homes Tour & More The historic seaside village of Beaufort will be opening its doors for the 58th annual Old Homes & Gardens Tour on June 22-23. This annual tour features 12 of Beaufort’s beautiful private homes, 10 gardens, multiple local churches and artists’ studios throughout the town. This year the Beaufort Historical Association changed the name from the Beaufort Old Homes & Gardens Tour to the Old Homes Tour and More. This change was made because the week of this year’s tour will be offering much more than Beaufort’s wonderful private homes and gardens. Tickets for the tour are $20 and are on sale now. From small cottages to beautiful waterfront homes and quaint gardens, this year’s tour will also feature the restored buildings on the historic site, a musical concert, the annual Kick Off party, a Literary Luncheon with two well-known authors, a VIP dinner and a closing Jazz Brunch featuring a New York interior designer. These events were added to compliment the tour and to offer guest more events to enjoy while visiting the town of Beaufort for the Old Homes Tour. Starting off the events for the Old Homes Tour is the annual Kick Off Party on June 2 with great food, featured Old Homes Tour artist Paul Minnis, and the third annual Bartenders Challenge. Join the Beaufort Historical Association in thanking the home owners and sponsors at this social event, tickets are $30. 30

www.nccoast.com

The Literary Luncheon, held on Wednesday, June 20, will feature New York Times bestselling author Mary Alice Monroe and local bestselling author Kristy Woodson Harvey with their newest beach reads along with lunch at the Coral Bay Club. Tickets to the luncheon are $40 and are limited. Following the Literary Luncheon on Wednesday, June 20 is the VIP Literary Dinner with Mary Alice Monroe at Beaufort Grocery Co. paired with award winning wines. Tickets for this special dinner are $125. A free evening choir concert at Purvis Chapel will take place at 7pm on Thursday, June 21, paying tribute to Old Homes Tour Honorary Chairs Patricia & Charles Phillips. Wrapping up the Old Homes Tour events will be a closing Jazz Brunch at 11am on Sunday, June 24at the private home of Debrorah & Charles Llewellyn. Tickets for this special brunch are $80 and feature a presentation by New York interior designer Marshall Watson with his design book “The Art of Elegance” and catering provided by Scarborough Fare. Tickets for the Old Homes Tour and accompanying events are on sale now and can be purchased at the Beaufort Historic Site Welcome Center located at 130 Turner Street in downtown Beaufort or by calling the historic site at 252-728-5225. Tickets are also available at www.beauforthistoricsite.org.

Sites to See There’s more to living at the beach than dips in the oceans and offshore fishing. OK, so those things are really great. But there are loads of options in Eastern North Carolina when you get tired of feeling the warmth of the sand between your toes. Surrounded by museums, aquariums, historic sites and landmarks, there is so much to do beyond the beach that we could keep you busy every weekend for a year.

BEAUFORT HISTORIC SITE

The trials and tribulations of North Carolina’s third oldest town are preserved and remembered through the nearly 60-year-old Beaufort Historical Association and its accompanying site. With restored buildings and a variety of annual programs, the BHA transports visitors back to the first days of “Fish Towne.” Learn more at www.beauforthistoricsite.org.

CAPE LOOKOUT NATIONAL SEASHORE

The 56-mile of Cape Lookout National Seashore is home to some of the most natural undeveloped stretches of beach to be found in the United States today. The three barrier islands that make up the park are only accessible by private boat or water ferry, so getting there may require a little planning as well as reservations during the busy summer months. But it’s well worth the journey. Find info at www.nps.gov/calo.

CORE SOUND WATERFOWL MUSEUM & HERITAGE CENTER Located on Harkers Is-

land, this clearinghouse of Down East heritage is a must stop for anyone curious about this culturally-rich rural region. Once dependent on the water that surrounds it, Down East families entwined with boat building, decoy carving, hunting and fishing – a story that is told through community exhibits, artifacts and special programs. Details: 252728-1500, www.coresound.com.

HISTORY MUSEUM OF CARTERET COUNTY

Morehead City’s only museum focuses on the rich, abundant history of this waterfront area. Visit an early school room, peek in to Carteret County’s fishing industry and touch the wheels of spy Emeline Pigott’s carriage. The Jack Spencer Goodwin Library, lauded for its genealogy materials, is available for public research. Details: 252-247-7533, www.thehistoryplace. org.

NC AQUARIUM AT PINE KNOLL SHORES

From the Mountains to the Sea, the NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores explores the wildlife of North Carolina’s waterways with a focus on preservation of the state’s delicate ecosystems. One of the highlights, the 306,000-gallon Living Shipwreck, features sand tiger sharks, sea turtles and hundreds of fish gliding around a three-quarter-scale replica of a German U-boat found off the coast. Details: 252-247-4003, www.ncaquariums.com.

NC MARITIME MUSEUM

One of three maritime museums in the state system, the flagship in Beaufort tells the tale of Eastern North Carolina’s long-standing relationship with the ocean. Museum staff members have been involved with the preservation of artifacts excavated from the Queen Anne’s Revenge, Blackbeard the Pirate’s vessel that was lost just outside Beaufort inlet. For more info, visit www. ncmaritimemuseumbeaufort.com.

CROATAN NATIONAL FOREST

Ready for a hike? Get back to nature with the Croatan National Forest, with its collection of hiking trails, boat launches, campgrounds and day-use areas. The Croatan is home to a large number of carnivorous plants native to the area, including the Venus flytrap. Headquarters is located at 141 East Fisher Ave., just outside of New Bern. Visit www.fs.usda. gov.

NEW BERN FIREMEN’S MUSEUM

FORT MACON STATE PARK

TRYON PALACE This regal centerpiece to New Bern’s historic districts is a reproduction of the mansion constructed in 1770 for Colonial Governor William Tryon, who, after spending just a year in the home, fled North Carolina to become governor of New York. The original home was destroyed by fire in 1798. Site includes the NC History Center, a state-of-the-art museum, theater and meeting space. Learn more at www.tryonpalace.org.

With a new visitor’s center and a schedule of daily programs, the state’s second most visited park continues to draw visitors to the northern peak of Bogue Banks with its 385 acres of beach, dunes and maritime forest. The well-preserved pentagonal brick fortress garrisoned for the Spanish-American War is always a favorite. Visit www.ncparks.gov.

Trace the steps of the first chartered fire brigade, the Atlantic Hook & Ladder Company, and its competitors, the New Bern Steam Fire Engine Company No. 1. Established in 1955, the museum is currently raising funds to restore the Central Fire Station on Broad Street to its 1928 appearance, with hopes of relocating into the space. There’s no dining room, just a small easy-to-miss brick building. At the window, you place your order (trust us, make it a shrimpburger). The server writes the order on a paper sack, which soon will be handed out with your meal inside: fried shrimp, tartar sauce, coleslaw, and ketchup, all piled on a steamed bun. Messy and totally yummy.” - Coastal Living Magazine

Fishing the Coast The warm waters of the Gulf Stream provide the Crystal Coast with the longest fishing season on the Atlantic coast. The area is home to one of the largest fishing tournaments in the world for blue marlin; other fish caught along the Crystal Coast include bluefin tuna, yellowfin tuna, red drum, false albacore, sea trout, striped bass, cobia, sailfish, dolphin and wahoo depending on seasons. Many species, including drum and flounder, are caught surf fishing. Saltwater and freshwater anglers age 16 and older must have a valid, state-issued recreational fishing license to take fish in North Carolina throughout the year. Specific regulations and restrictions apply including size and daily limits. North Carolina offers a variety of fishing licenses from temporary to lifetime. Licenses for recreational fishing can be purchased online at www.ncwildlife.org, by visiting the Div. of Marine Fisheries in Morehead City or through area fishing supply stores.

Prevent Summer Learning Loss Summer vacation presents an opportunity for students to enjoy an extended break from the classroom. While this respite from routine may be a welcome change to youngsters, teachers frequently lament that valuable educational lessons seem to be forgotten each summer. Educators then face tougher hurdles when students return to school in the fall. Such a phenomenon is dubbed “summer learning loss,” but it can occur during any extended break from school. Scholars have realized for some time that students’ rate of academic development de56

www.nccoast.com

clines during summer vacation. Oxford Learning, a tutoring and education training group, offers these eye-opening statistics: •

Over the summer, students lose 2.6 months of math skills and two months of reading.

Summer learning loss can be seen in students as young as 6.

It can take up to two months from the first day of school to get students’ brain development back on course.

Coastal Kids Summer learning loss, sometimes called “brain drain” or the “summer slide,” can be prevented. Proponents of year-round schooling at The National Association for Year-Round Education recommend a more balanced school year, where summer vacation lasts only 30 days and other school breaks are lengthened. In this scenario, the school year would still last about 180 days, but without the lengthy breaks. Parents may prefer the status quo, and those who do can take several steps to prevent summer learning loss from affecting their children. •

some thought-provoking areas of interest on your itinerary. •

Look for science moments. Trips to the beach, parks and much more present myriad opportunities to learn about science. Children can stage their own experiments with items they find in nature, such as learning about tides, wind and water flow by sailing homemade boats.

Stick to a schedule. Try to maintain a schedule similar to school, with children waking at the same time each day and going to bed at similar hours. This will make it much easier to get back into a routine when a new school year begins.

Purchase a journal. Encourage kids to write about their summer adventures in a journal. Chances are their teachers will ask about summer vacations and may require an essay when students return to school.

Encourage more reading. Schools recommend summer reading lists, but students should also learn to read for pleasure. Research from the National Literary Trust indicates reading for pleasure can improve reading attainment and writing, as well as one’s general knowledge. Children can bring books to the beach that they can read between frolicking sessions in the waves.

Teach kids through daily tasks. Barbecuing, making a cake, building a raised garden bed, seeding the lawn – each of these moments present educational opportunities for parents who want to keep their kids’ minds sharp during summer.

Children need not fall victim to summer learning loss when their days are filled with educational but fun activities.

Ask teachers for work packets. Students can stay on top of their studies by doing some light schoolwork throughout the summer. This can reinforce lessons kids have already learned and keep their minds sharp.

Enjoy family game nights. Games can be customized to highlight certain skills that require reinforcement. For example, math-centered games that require counting or addition can strengthen generalized math skills. Problem-solving board games may help children become better critical thinkers.

Learn at camp. Many children attend camp for a portion of their school breaks. Look for camps that do not simply babysit children, but engage them through enrichment activities.

Make vacations educational. Add travel to historical sites or other places of interest to help history come alive. When visiting new towns and cities, read the placards that explain important moments in history that took place in each town or city, making sure to include

Returning to the Rock For 60 years, the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament has drawn droves of spectators and media to the Morehead City waterfront. Visitors and residents visit shops and restaurants downtown while waiting for an angler to catch the top prize, a blue marlin. While prizes are still awarded for game fish such as mahi mahi, tuna and wahoo, the blue marlin weigh-ins are what draws the crowds to see who is at the top of the leader board and in the running for the purse, which annually tops $1 million. Prior to 1957, the blue marlin was an elusive catch that most believed could only be caught in the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. One had never been caught in the waters off Morehead City, though sailors often told stories of the blue marlin seen not too far offshore. Most were convinced these stories were just tall tales, but Morehead City’s Fabulous Fishermen Club decided to see if the stories were true. The original members of the club were able to convince local business leaders to put a small cash

prize together for the person to catch the first blue marlin. While boats began to venture further out, the first blue marlin wasn’t caught until Sept. 14, 1957. The angler was welcomed at the dock by an impromptu parade and a children’s red wagon full of the prize money. This year’s tournament is scheduled for June 8-16, drawing anglers from up and down the coast. Blue marlin are brought to the scales as soon as they are caught, while game fish weigh-ins occur Monday through Friday from 4-7pm and on Saturday from 3-6pm. The tournament kicks off with the Lady Angler Event from 6-9pm on Friday, June 8 at the Crystal Coast Civic Center. The Big Rock Lady Angler Tournament runs from 8am-2pm on Saturday, June 9, followed by the Captain’s Party at the Civic Center from 7-11pm. Tickets can be purchased at tournament headquarters or at the door. Can’t make it downtown to see the big ones make it to the dock? Keep tabs on all the action with the tournament’s live feed at thebigrock.com.
