The 4m wide version of the polycrub. This is our most popular size. Best for exposed sites.
We are very proud of our polycrub. It’s a tremendously strong structure, and is built with a solid green ethos. The frame is made from recycled salmon pipe, which gives this material another new, long, useful purpose. We use polycarbonate to cover our polycrubs. This is not the cheapest form of covering for a growing structure, but we use it because we are confident that it has the longest lifespan of anything available. Polycarbonate is also certainly the most durable. Shetland has a well-merited reputation for wind, and we think the polycrub can withstand quite a lot of it! The polycrub is a much more permanent structure than many of the kit-form polytunnels. For this reason we advise customers to check with the Local Planning Authority whether a chosen site will require planning permission, or Agricultural Prior Notification, if constructing on a croft/farm. Polycrubs are available in 3m or 4m widths. The 3m version comes in a 3 x 4m, 3 x 5m, 3 x 6m or 3 x 7m kit. The 4m wide range begins at 4 x 4m and increases in 1m increments to 4 x 12m. PLEASE NOTE—our 3m wide polycrubs are not sold outwith Shetland. This is due to a process we carry out with the pipe for this model, and we cannot guarantee it will travel well during long trips. The kit comes with full construction notes. Prices include all the materials you will require to construct the polycrubs shown in the photographs, except the aggregate for the posts . The cost of delivery from our site to yours is NOT included, unless stated. Anyone with a good grasp of DIY can build our polycrubs. You won’t need to dig out foundations —all you need is a relatively level site, some tools and a little patience at times!
