We are very proud of our polycrub. It’s a resilient, strong, durable structure; built with a solid green ethos. Polycrub kit sizes begin at 4m x 4m and increase in 1m increments to a 4 x 12m. The hoops of the frame are created using strong, recycled pipe. This gives the material another new, long, useful purpose and diverts the pipe from landfill. Our polycrubs are covered using polycarbonate sheeting. The sheet is lightweight, impact resistant and easy to bend and install. It features a UV-protective layer on one side which provides good resistance against degradation caused by UV radiation in sunlight. Each sheet carries a 10-year warranty and they are strong, highly weather resistant and have good thermal insulation properties. Our sheets give excellent light transmission at 81%. We use polycarbonate because we are confident that it has the longest, most durable lifespan of anything available. The polycrub is a much more permanent structure than many of the kit-form polytunnels. For this reason, we advise customers to check with the Local Planning Authority whether a chosen site will require planning permission, or Agricultural Prior Notification, if constructing on a croft/farm. The kit comes with full construction notes. Prices include all the materials needed to construct the polycrub shown in the photograph, except the aggregate for the posts. The cost of delivery from our site to yours is NOT included, unless otherwise stated. Anyone with a good grasp of DIY can build our polycrub. You won’t need to dig out foundations —all you need is a relatively level site, some tools and a little patience at times! Alternatively, customers often choose to contract a local builder or handyman to build the polycrub for them. Nortenergy is a trading arm of Northmavine Community Development Company.
