GANJIER SPRING KICKOFF
TO THE 2ND ANNUAL
GANJIER SPRING KICKOFF California’s cannabis industry is in transition. Local and state regulations are fresh off the press, and the details are being worked out across the state. Many farmers and entrepreneurs have already begun preparing both the soil and themselves for the transition they’ll need to thrive in a regulated market. The future is clear – clean medicine will be required and environmental sustainability is paramount. Our hope with the 2 nd annual Ganjier Spring Kickoff is to help prepare the community for the cultivation and regulation season ahead. We have invited brands that represent top quality seed genetics so farmers can have a strong genetic foundation on which to build. The Main Stage of the Mateel Community Center will feature professionals, experts, farmers and breeders that will share their knowledge and best practices on growing organically and on becoming a compliant business. The theme this year is “Seeding a Sustainable Future” with the intent of spreading knowledge and helping the community move forward. We hope you enjoy the event! Sincerely, Allison Edrington Executive Producer Ganjier Media

MARY JANE A MUSICAL POTUMENTARY

GANJIER SPRING KICKOFF 2016
EVENT DETAILS CONTINUED
Mary Jane: The Musical, Humboldt County’s original musical, is moving from the stage to the screen! See the sneak preview at 7 pm inside the Mateel! The Dell’Arte International staged the world premiere of Mary Jane: the Musical at its 2011 Mad River Festival in Blue Lake, California. Partnering with twelve local songwriters, the show featured Humboldt County-centric characters facing various issues in the marijuana milieu. Mary Jane quickly gained notoriety, sold out all its performances, and became the highest-grossing show in Dell’Arte’s 35-year production history. “MJ” won the hearts of local followers who demanded Dell’Arte bring it back for a second year, which they did in Mary Jane the Musical II: The Diva Returns. Now, in partnership with Emmy-nominated filmmaker, John Howarth, Dell’Arte is transforming MJ the Musical into a film exploring different facets of the marijuana industry in Humboldt. Mary Jane sought to examine all aspects of the local pot culture, from its regional economic importance to the grim particulars of violence and environmental degradation. The film aims to fuse the staged production and its artistic perspectives with documentary footage of the cannabisgrowing world, illustrating the reality behind the fiction. “Behind its original songs and humor, the play about marijuana cultivation is a bittersweet, multi-generational tale that celebrates the plant while laying bare the industry’s dark side.” – L.A. In decades past, one person in the cannabis industry would need to perform what would be a dozen jobs in a regulated business just to make it. Now you don’t have to use just you anymore. The end of prohibition in some states and a shift in how cannabis is perceived nationwide have created opportunities and opened the door for innovation. Cannabis entrepreneurs need a reliable, updated information source to help build their businesses and their knowledge of the plant. Enter The Ganjier. From the heart of the Emerald Triangle.
