2005 Líderes Summit National Council of La Raza (NCLR) Call for Workshop Proposals The Center for Emerging Latino Leadership at the National Council of La Raza invites proposal submissions for workshops at the upcoming Líderes Summit, which will be held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania July 15-19, 2005, in conjunction with the NCLR Annual Conference. The Líderes Summit brings together more than 300 students, youth leaders, and activists from community-based programs and campus-based organizations throughout the country. The program is open to all young people ages 14-25. Participants develop leadership and teamwork skills, share their experiences, explore ideas for community involvement and empowerment, and discuss issues that face the Latino community. Summit participants build networking and mentorship skills and take part in the entire NCLR Annual Conference, which is attended by more than 20,000 people. There is more information on the Líderes Summit and Annual Conference at http://lideres.nclr.org Selected presenters will conduct workshops at the Líderes Summit Pre-Conference held Friday, July 15. Each workshop is attended by roughly 50 youth. Workshop presenters will receive up to three (3) complimentary Líderes Summit registrations for youth or up to two (2) for adults. Presenters are, however, responsible for their own travel and lodging expenses and registration fees for any additional presenters. Preference will be given to proposals from NCLR affiliate organizations, groups that include youth as presenters, and groups who will attend the entire Conference. Multiple proposals may be submitted. Workshops are free only for Líderes Network member groups.* Corporations (for-profit entities), government agencies, and nonprofit organizations must pay a fee to conduct workshops. For more information on fees, contact Christian Lozano at clozano@nclr.org. ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY WEDNESDAY, APRIL 6, 2005!
