NATIONAL LEGISLATIVE LEADERSHIP SUMMIT AND ANNUAL CAPITAL AWARDS GALA March 28–29, 2017, Washington, DC Join NCLR for its inaugural National Legislative Leadership Summit in Washington, DC, as we convene leaders from around the country to the nation’s capital to discuss the latest legislative and policy agendas impacting the Latino community. Held over two days, the National Legislative Leadership Summit welcomes thought leaders from the nonprofit community to engage in high-level strategic conversations impacting national and regional initiatives that continue to empower Latinos. The National Legislative Leadership Summit also integrates the development of the next generation of leaders by bringing Latino youth leaders to the nation’s capital to participate in sessions on civic engagement, cultural empowerment, and leadership development.

The NCLR Capital Awards Gala culminates the National Legislative Leadership Summit and is a nonpartisan event that recognizes leaders from both sides of the aisle for their outstanding support of public policies that are vital to Hispanic Americans. In addition, the Public Service Award honors individuals outside of Washington who courageously and tirelessly advocate on behalf of Latinos. Capital Awards | 13

THE NCLR ANNUAL CONFERENCE JULY 8–11, 2017, PHOENIX CONVENTION CENTER, PHOENIX, ARIZONA Since 1968, NCLR has engaged our country’s lawmakers, business entrepreneurs, and community change-makers in ongoing conversations about important issues in the Hispanic community. The Hispanic market is the fastest-growing consumer demographic in the country,
and NCLR maintains close working relationships with some of the most prominent individuals, institutions, and companies working with the Latino community. Our Annual Conference is more than a business opportunity—it’s a cultural event. As the largest annual
gathering of Latinos in the United States, NCLR’s Annual Conference is an important and timely investment. This year marks the 49th anniversary of NCLR, and as a fitting tribute we are returning to the place we were founded: Phoenix, Arizona. The theme for this year’s Conference, Nuestro Movimiento: Our
American Journey, highlights the great accomplishments over nearly five decades of work in championing the Latino community in the United States and building a strong and lasting American institution. Please join us in celebrating our origins and legacy this year in Phoenix!

EDUCATION
Our Education programs ensure Latino students reach their fullest potential.
NCLR is dedicated to increasing educational opportunities, improving achievement, and promoting equal access to quality education for Latinos. To address areas of disparity in Latino achievement, NCLR implements a capacity-building, training, and technical assistance model that strengthens the ability of community-based organizations and schools to address barriers to education at every touch point: early childhood education, K–12 education, extended learning time, youth development, higher education, and parental engagement.

HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT NCLR works to increase access to housing and credit to Latino families nationwide. A major program to accomplish this goal is the NCLR Homeownership Network (NHN), a counseling network approved by the Department of Housing and Urban Development that consists of more than 50 Affiliates in 28 states. The NHN provides housing counseling in person or by phone to more than 60,000 families annually to assist in buying a home they can afford, resolve situations with their current mortgage, and provide financial capability support so that families better understand their credit, factors impacting family budgets, and the effective use of financial services.
