As we move forward in the new year, we are once again reminded of God’s unwavering faithfulness. Your prayers, generosity, and steadfast support have allowed Shechem to grow, thrive, and provide a place of healing for children in need.
A brand-new, functional kitchen has been built to improve daily meal preparations.
We are thrilled to share that 90% of Shechem’s renovation is now complete! Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Wholistic Transformation Resource Center (WTRC) and our supporters, the children are just weeks away from their newly transformed home
We are actively seeking a team to help with the exterior work.
Your involvement will bring us one step closer to completing this final stage and ensuring a warm, welcoming home for the children. We celebrate how far we’ve come and look forward to crossing the finish line together!
Healing takes many forms, and this quarter, Trauma-Informed Yoga has provided a powerful tool for the children at Shechem. Led by volunteer Coach Yen of Surya Project, these sessions help survivors process emotions, regulate stress,
Through safe, guided movement, children have and rebuild their sense of self-worth. learned how to manage their breathing, release tension, and cultivate inner peace. As one child shared: “Yoga helps me regulate myself when I feel dysregulated. It makes me feel lighter, happier, and more at peace ” – Pia, 15
Pia, 15 , arrived at Shechem withdrawn and disengaged . She was struggling academically, reluctant to participate in activities, and had difficulty forming connections
Over time, through therapy, mentorship, and structured daily routines, Pia has shown remarkable progress She now wakes up early, engages more actively with peers, and is learning to express her emotions in healthier ways . While challenges remain, her journey is testament to the healing power of patience, support, and faith .
