THE COLLECT AND READINGS THE COLLECT Almighty and everlasting God, whose will it is to restore all things in your well-beloved Son, the King of kings and Lord of lords: Mercifully grant that the peoples of the earth, divided and
enslaved by sin, may be freed and brought together under His most gracious rule; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. THE FIRST LESSON A Reading from the Word of God written in the Book of Daniel Chapter7 beginning at the 9th verse As I looked, thrones were placed and one that was ancient of days took his seat; his raiment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne was fiery flames, its wheels were burning fire. A stream of fire issued and came forth from before him; a thousand thousands served him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him; the court sat in judgment, and the books were opened. I looked then because of the sound of the great words which the horn was speaking. And as I looked, the beast was slain, and its body destroyed and given over to be burned with fire. As for the rest of the beasts, their dominion was taken away, but their lives were prolonged for a season and a time. I saw in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him. And to him was given dominion and glory and kingdom, that all peoples, nations, !3
and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed. Reader: ALL:
Here ends the Reading. Thanks be to God.
PSALM 93
1.The Lord is king; he has put on splendid apparel;" and girded himself with strength. 2.He has made the whole world so sure* that it cannot be moved; 3.Ever since the world began, your throne has been established;* you are from everlasting. 4.The waters have lifted up, O Lord, the waters have lifted up their voice; * the waters have lifted up their pounding waves. 5.Mightier than the sound of many waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea, * mightier is the Lord who dwells on high. 6.Your testimonies are very sure, * and holiness adorns your house, O Lord, for ever and for evermore. Glory to the Father, and to the Son;*and to the Holy Spirit; As it was in the beginning is now:*and shall be forever. Amen.

THE SECOND LESSON A Reading from the Word of God written in the Revelation to John Chapter1 beginning at the 1st verse The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants what must soon take place; and he made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who bore witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw. Blessed is he who reads aloud the words of the prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written therein; for the time is near. John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne, and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, every one who pierced him; and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen. "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty. Reader: All:
Here ends the Reading Thanks be to God. THE HOLY GOSPEL The Lord be with you. And also with you.
A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to John Glory to Christ our Saviour. At that time Pilate entered the praetorium again and called Jesus, and said to him, "Are you the King of the Jews?" Jesus answered, "Do you say this of your own accord, or did others say it to you about me?" Pilate answered, "Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have handed you over to me; what have you done?" Jesus answered, "My kingship is not of this world; if my kingship were of this world, my servants would fight, that I might not be handed over to the Jews; but my kingship is not from the world." Pilate said to him, "So you are a !5
king?" Jesus answered, "You say that I am a king. For this I was born, and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth. Every one who is of the truth hears my voice." The Gospel of Christ Praise to Christ our Lord. From the Rector’s Notebook Greetings: It has certainly been a busy but exciting week as I participated as a delegate in the 39th triennial Synod of the Anglican Church in the Province of the West Indies held here in Barbados from Saturday 14 - Thursday 19 November. The Anglican Church in the Province of the West Indies is arguably the oldest regional organization. It was established in 1883 and demonstrates that we in this region can work together for the common good. It was an opportunity to see former classmates from Codrington College who now serve in various areas of the church’s work along with other acquaintances, while establishing new contacts in this wonderful ministry. The Synod was assisted by another member of our parish, Mr. Charles Leacock, who serves as Provincial Chancellor and who offered much guidance as we sought to pass the various resolutions so as to guide the church for the next three years and beyond. One of the highlights of the week was to link up with The Rev’d Charles Davidson, the Bishopelect of the Diocese of Guyana, who has been serving in the Church in the United States. We wish !6
Fr. Davidson all the very best as he assumes this new ministry. The Sacred Synod of the Province will indeed share a communique with the public across the region, highlighting many important areas regarding justice, reconciliation and how we should be sharing the various gifts given by God. Let me say however, that it was good to note that one of the outcomes of the Synod was the recognition of the need for a formal Information Communications Technology (ICT) policy in the context of this modern world. Information Technology Consultant Mr. Kyle Grant (Trinidad & Tobago), who worshipped with us last Sunday, and Mr. Clifton Nedd (Grenada) of the Anglican Alliance did an awesome presentation in which they demonstrated how the prayer and hymn texts can be made available on mobile devices via web applications. We face many challenges in these Caribbean lands; while noting the goodness of God who is always with us. On this Feast Day of Christ the King, the final Sunday of the Church’s liturgical year, let us pray that as we move into a new cycle next Sunday (Advent Sunday) that the Holy Spirit of God will continue to lead us and guide us as we proclaim the Kingdom of God in this age. Your friend and priest, Noel A. Burke, MA (The Rev’d Canon) Rector !7

HEALTH CORNER by Dr. Sophia Marshall Prostate cancer may not cause signs or symptoms in its early stages. The symptoms of prostate cancer may be
different for each man and any one of these symptoms may be caused by other conditions. Depending on the size and location, a tumor may press on and constrict the urethra, inhibiting the flow of urine (refer to diagram). According to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, prostate cancer that
is more advanced may cause signs such as: ▪
Burning or pain during urination
▪
Difficulty urinating, or trouble starting and stopping while urinating
▪
More frequent urges to urinate at night
▪
Loss of bladder control
▪
Decreased flow or velocity of urine stream
▪
Blood in urine (hematuria)
