THE COLLECT Almighty and everlasting God, in Christ you have revealed your glory among the nations: Preserve the works of your mercy, that your Church throughout the world may persevere with steadfast faith in the confession of your Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God,
for ever and ever. Amen THE FIRST READING: READER:
A Reading from the Word of God written in the Book of Isaiah Chapter 45 beginning at the 1st verse
Thus says the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have grasped, to subdue nations before him and ungird the loins of kings, to open doors before him that gates may not be closed: "I will go before you and level the mountains, I will break in pieces the doors of bronze and cut asunder the bars of iron, I will give you the treasures of darkness and the hoards in secret places, that you may know that it is I, the LORD, the God of Israel, who call you by your name. For the sake of my servant Jacob, and Israel my chosen, I call you by your name, I surname you, though you do not know me. I am the LORD, and there is no other, besides me there is no God; I gird you, though you do not know me, that men may know, from the rising of the sun and from the west, that there is none besides me; I am the LORD, and there is no other. I form light and create darkness, I make weal and create woe,
I am the LORD, who do all these things. Reader:: ALL:

PSALM 96 Cantate Domino
1 Sing to the Lord a new song; * sing to the Lord, all the whole earth. 2 Sing to the Lord and bless his Name; * proclaim the good news of his salvation from day to day. 3 Declare his glory among the nations * and his wonders among all peoples. 4 For great is the Lord and greatly to be praised; * he is more to be feared than all gods. 5 As for all the gods of the nations, they are but idols; * but it is the Lord who made the heavens. 6 Oh, the majesty and magnificence of his presence! * Oh, the power and the splendor of his sanctuary! 7 Ascribe to the Lord, you families of the peoples; * ascribe to the Lord honor and power. 8 Ascribe to the Lord the honor due his Name; * bring offerings and come into his courts. 9 Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness; * let the whole earth tremble before him. 10 Tell it out among the nations: “The Lord is King! * he has made the world so firm that it cannot be moved; he will judge the peoples with equity. 11 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea thunder and all that is in it; * let the field be joyful and all that is therein. 12 Then shall all the trees of the wood shout for joy before the Lord when he comes, * when he comes to judge the earth. 13 He will judge the world with righteousness * and the peoples with his truth. !4
Glory to the Father, and to the Son;* and to the Holy Spirit; As it was in the beginning is now:* and shall be forever. Amen THE EPISTLE A Reading from the Word of God written in the First Letter to the Thessalonians Chapter 1 beginning at the 1st verse Paul, Silva'nus, and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalo'nians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace. We give thanks to God always for you all, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labour of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. For we know, brethren beloved by God, that he has chosen you; for our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction. You know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake. And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you received the word in much affliction, with joy inspired by the Holy Spirit; so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedo'nia and in Acha'ia. For not only has the word of the Lord sounded forth from you in Macedo'nia and Acha'ia, but your faith in God has gone forth everywhere, so that we need not say anything. For they themselves report concerning us what a welcome we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols, to serve a living and true God, and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come. THE HOLY GOSPEL The Lord be with you. And also with you. A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew Glory to Christ our Saviour. !5
At that time the Pharisees went and took counsel how to entangle Jesus in his talk. And they sent their disciples to him, along with the Hero'di-ans, saying, "Teacher, we know that you are true, and teach the way of God truthfully, and care for no man; for you do not regard the position of men. Tell us, then, what you think. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?" But Jesus, aware of their malice, said, "Why put me to the test, you hypocrites? Show me the money for the tax." And they brought him a coin. And Jesus said to them, "Whose likeness and inscription is this?" They said, "Caesar's." Then he said to them, "Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." When they heard it, they marveled; and they left him and went away. The Gospel of Christ. Praise to Christ our Lord. FROM THE RECTOR’S NOTEBOOK Greetings: In an article written by Elizabeth Dias, Time magazine Online reveals that there are enormous pastoral challenges for christians in Liberia. Her report reveals that the past few months since the Ebola outbreak have been brutal for Liberia, where about 69% of the population is Christian, according to Pew Research Center. The Roman Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of GBarnga in Liberia, who was invited but was unable to attend a recently held Synod of the Family in Rome mentions the dire situation in which relatives are not able to tend to infected loved ones because of the contagious nature of the virus. For the sake of safety, they are observing strict medical rules about what kind of interaction they can have while together for prayer. No touching, no handshakes, and entrances of

churches, homes, and offices have buckets of chlorinated water for hand washing. According to the Centre for Disease Control (CDC) Ebola is spread through direct contact (through broken skin or mucous membranes in, for example, the eyes, nose, or mouth) with • blood or body fluids (including but not limited to urine, saliva, sweat, feces, vomit, breast milk, and semen) of a person who is sick with Ebola • objects (like needles and syringes) that have been contaminated with the virus • infected animals • Ebola is not spread through the air or by water, or in general, by food. There is no evidence that mosquitos or other insects can transmit Ebola virus. Only mammals (for example, humans, bats, monkeys, and apes) have shown the ability to become infected with and spread Ebola virus. In Sierra Leone, which geographically is next to Liberia, the Anglican Bishop of the Diocese of Freetown, Bishop Thomas Wilson said that with the outbreak of the Ebola virus, and seeing the need to help save the lives of Sierra Leoneans, especially children, the church has offered land to be used for the erection of a Holding Unit for suspected Ebola cases, with the hope that the disease will be brought under control as soon as possible. It is from the words of the sacred liturgy that we pray “for the sick, the suffering, the sorrowful and the dying; and for all who remember and care for them.” In the midst of all let us also pray for local health authorities as they seek to prevent and keep ahead of the newly revealed viruses that arise among us.
Your friend and priest, Noel A. Burke, MA,(The Rev’d Canon) Rector

RECITING THE NICENE CREED There is ritual familiarity regarding the Nicene Creed. We can often recite it with our eyes closed. We must pay close attention to the clauses and punctuation marks in the creed because each statement is a particular expression about the faith that we hold. The Nicene Creed is the whole Church articulating and expressing its faith under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. In reciting the Nicene Creed we are making an expression of faith of the entire Christian community. We must therefore be intentioned when making these statements, remembering that:1. The Creed is a short summary of faith required of those who are baptized. 2. The Nicene Creed, written by the First and Second Ecumenical Councils represents the official creed of the Church. It is a statement of faith written by the entire Christian Church under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. 3. One's creed matters since what we believe ultimately finds expression in our lives. (What we pray is what we believe - Prosper of Aquitaine) 4. The CPWI has preserved the Nicene Creed in its original form without the filioque clause. 5. A correct creed is necessary for correct praying. 6. Recited in every liturgy, the Nicene Creed is a constant renewal of our baptismal confession of faith. !9

Breast cancer is often thought of as a single disease but there are several different cancers that can affect the breast. The chemical and genetic composition of the cancer assists doctors in determining the best treatment options for the patient. The tissue sample obtained from the biopsy or removed tumour is examined at the laboratory. Here are a few questions that are considered in order to classify a breast cancer. Is the cancer invasive or non-invasive? Invasive: Most breast cancers are invasive. This means that the cancer cells have spread outside of the lining of the ducts or lobes into surrounding breast tissue. It can then spread to the lymph nodes or other parts of the body. Non-invasive: These cancer cells remain in their point of origin. They do not spread to breast tissue surrounding the milk ducts or milkmaking glands. Where did the cancer begin? The behaviour of the cancer is influenced by the location of its origin. This is important to the determination of the most appropriate treatment. Most common is breast cancer which starts in the lining of a milk duct. The ducts carry breast milk from the lobules, where it's made, to the nipple. Breast cancer can also originate in these lobules. Is the cancer sensitive to hormones? Some breast cancers have the ability to 'capture' and utilise hormones that are circulating in the body. A knowledge of whether the cancer is sensitive to a particular hormone, can determine if hormone-blocking medication could be used to slow the growth of the cancer. What is the appearance of the cancer cells under the microscope? Pathologists examine how different the cancer cells look from normal cells. Based on these differences, breast cancers are graded from 1 to 3. Grade 3 cancers are the most different and considered the most aggressive.
