THE COLLECT Almighty and everlasting God, whose will it is to restore all things in your well-beloved Son, the King of kings and Lord of lords: Mercifully grant that the peoples of the earth, divided and enslaved by sin, may be freed and brought together under His most gracious rule; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen THE FIRST READING: READER:
A Reading from the Word of God written in the Book of Ezekiel Chapter 34 beginning at the 11th verse
"Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I, I myself will search for my sheep, and will seek them out. As a shepherd seeks out his flock when some of his sheep have been scattered abroad, so will I seek out my sheep; and I will rescue them from all places where they have been scattered on a day of clouds and thick darkness. And I will bring them out from the peoples, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land; and I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, by the fountains, and in all the inhabited places of the country. I will feed them with good pasture, and upon the mountain heights of Israel shall be their pasture; there they shall lie down in good grazing land, and on fat pasture they shall feed on the mountains of Israel. I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I will make them lie down, says the Lord GOD. I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the crippled, and I will strengthen the weak, and the fat and the strong I will watch over; I will feed them in justice. "As for you, my

PSALM 95: 1-11 Venite, exultemus.
1 Come, let us sing to the LORD; * let us shout for joy to the Rock of our salvation. 2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving * and raise a loud shout to him with psalms. 3 For the LORD is a great God, * King above all gods. 4

Glory to the Father, and to the Son;*and to the Holy Spirit; As it was in the beginning is now:*and shall be forever. Amen THE EPISTLE A Reading from the Word of God written in the First Letter to the Corinthians Chapter 15 beginning at the 20th verse In fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ. Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death. "For God has put all things in subjection under his feet." But when it says, "All things are put in subjection under him," it is plain that he is excepted who put all things under him. When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to him who put all things under him, that God may be everything to every one. Reader: ALL:

THE HOLY GOSPEL The Lord be with you. And also with you. A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew Glory to Christ our Saviour. At that time Jesus said, "When the Son of man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate them one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats, and he will place the sheep at his right hand, but the goats at the left. Then the King will say to those at his right hand, `Come, O blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.' Then the righteous will answer him, `Lord, when did we see thee hungry and feed thee, or thirsty and give thee drink? And when did we see thee a stranger and welcome thee, or naked and clothe thee? And when did we see thee sick or in prison and visit thee?' And the King will answer them, `Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.' Then he will say to those at his left hand, `Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels; for I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.' Then they also will answer, `Lord, when did we see thee hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to thee?' Then he will answer them, `Truly, I say to you, as you did it not to one of the least of these, you did it not to me.' And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life." The Gospel of Christ. Praise to Christ our Lord.

FROM THE RECTOR’S NOTEBOOK Greetings: “Let the children first be fed” Mark 7:27 The Breakfast Club at the Blackman and Gollop Primary School is in need of a boost. This is an effort primarily between the South District Methodist Church and the St. David’s Church. At present there are other are congregations in the district expressing interest. At a recent meeting with a representative of the South District School along with our own Cynthia Reid it was revealed that the programme was not being held this term. We have determined that the Breakfast club serves the need for many of the children at the school, some of whom must leave home quite early in order to access daily transportation. For an academic year 20,570 children are served averaging 571 per week meaning that a total of 120 breakfasts are given per day. There are two ladies who prepare the meals and at least three volunteers are needed each morning to assist with the distribution. It is vital that we restart the Breakfast Club in time for the Hilary Term of the academic year which begins January 2015. Most of the items required are donated; however there are two persons who together, are given a small stipend
!7
of $375.00 per week. That works out to $1500.00 per month or $13,500 per year. This is only an honourarium, since we cannot afford to pay a salary. It does mean that the Club must be committed to defraying this cost and so is relying on donations from corporate Barbados and from altruistic persons who have our children at heart. On this Feast Day of Christ the King, let us pray that the King and Lord of our hearts will speak to us individually and corporately, helping us to look outwards towards our children and making every effort to help on an annual basis. Let us pledge our support for this programme and ensure donations for this project which is so vital in securing the good health and strength of our children while lending support to parents. Let us remember the words of Christ our Lord and King "Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven." Mathew 19:14 Your friend and priest, Noel A. Burke, MA,(The Rev’d Canon) Rector
Today is the Feast of Christ the King. It is the final Sunday of the Church’s Liturgical Year. Next Sunday is Advent Sunday we will be using the readings for Liturgical Year B of the Three Year Cycle. !8
Specially requested by the Barbados Association of Professional engineers (BAPE) The Sons Of Martha: Rudyard Kiplng The Sons of Mary seldom bother, for they have inherited that good part; But the Sons of Martha favour their Mother of the careful soul and the troubled heart. And because she lost her temper once, and because she was rude to the Lord her Guest, Her Sons must wait upon Mary's Sons, world without end, reprieve, or rest.
It is their care in all the ages to take the buffet and cushion the shock. It is their care that the gear engages; it is their care that the switches lock. It is their care that the wheels run truly; it is their care to embark and entrain, Tally, transport, and deliver duly the Sons of Mary by land and main.
They say to mountains ``Be ye removèd.'' They say to the lesser floods ``Be dry.'' Under their rods are the rocks reprovèd---they are not afraid of that which is high. Then do the hill-tops shake to the summit---then is the bed of the deep laid bare, That the Sons of Mary may overcome it, pleasantly sleeping and unaware.
They finger Death at their gloves' end where they piece and repiece the living wires. He rears against the gates they tend: they feed him hungry behind their fires. Early at dawn, ere men see clear, they stumble into his terrible stall, And hale him forth like a haltered steer, and goad and turn him till evenfall.
To these from birth is Belief forbidden; from these till death is Relief afar. They are concerned with matters hidden---under the earthline their altars are--- The secret fountains to follow up, waters withdrawn to restore to the mouth, And gather the floods as in a cup, and pour them again at a city's drouth.
!9
They do not preach that their God will rouse them a little before the nuts work loose. They do not preach that His Pity allows them to drop their job when they damn-well choose. As in the thronged and the lighted ways, so in the dark and the desert they stand, Wary and watchful all their days that their brethren's ways may be long in the land.
Raise ye the stone or cleave the wood to make a path more fair or flat; Lo, it is black already with the blood some Son of Martha spilled for that! Not as a ladder from earth to Heaven, not as a witness to any creed, But simple service simply given to his own kind in their common need.
And the Sons of Mary smile and are blessèd---they know the Angels are on their side. They know in them is the Grace confessèd, and for them are the Mercies multiplied. They sit at the feet---they hear the Word---they see how truly the Promise runs. They have cast their burden upon the Lord, and---the Lord He lays it on Martha's Sons!

Health Corner Prostate cancer may not cause signs or symptoms in its early stages. The symptoms of prostate cancer may be different for each man and any one of these symptoms may be caused by other conditions. Depending on the size and location, a tumor may press on and constrict the urethra, inhibiting the flow of urine (refer to diagram). According to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, prostate cancer that is more advanced may cause signs such as: ▪
Burning or pain during urination
▪
Difficulty urinating, or trouble starting and stopping while urinating
▪
More frequent urges to urinate at night
▪
Loss of bladder control
▪
Decreased flow or velocity of urine stream
▪
Blood in urine (hematuria)
