THE COLLECT Almighty and everlasting God, you have given to us your servants grace, by the confession of a true faith, to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity, and in the power of your divine Majesty to worship the Unity: Keep us steadfast in this faith and worship, and bring us at last to see you in your one and eternal glory, O Father; who with the Son and the Holy Spirit live and reign, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. THE FIRST READING: READER: A Reading from the Word of God written in the Book of Exodus Chapter 3 beginning at the 1st verse Now Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Mid'ian; and he led his flock to the west side of the wilderness, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. And the angel of the LORD appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush; and he looked, and lo, the bush was burning, yet it was not consumed. And Moses said, "I will turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt." When the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, "Moses, Moses!" And he said, "Here am I." Then he said, "Do not come near; put off your shoes from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground." And he said, "I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God. Reader: ALL:

PSALM 93 Dominus regnavit
1.The Lord is king; he has put on splendid apparel;" and girded himself with strength. 2.He has made the whole world so sure* that it cannot be moved; 3.Ever since the world began, your throne has been established;* you are from everlasting. 4.The waters have lifted up, O Lord, the waters have lifted up their voice; * the waters have lifted up their pounding waves. 5.Mightier than the sound of many waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea, * mightier is the Lord who dwells on high. 6.Your testimonies are very sure, * and holiness adorns your house, O Lord, for ever and for evermore. Glory to the Father and to the Son* and to the Holy Spirit As it was in the beginning, is now* and shall be for ever. Amen THE EPISTLE A Reading from the Word of God written in the Letter to the Romans Chapter8 beginning at the 12th verse. So then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh --for if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the spirit of sonship. When

we cry, "Abba! Father!" it is the Spirit himself bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him. Reader: ALL:
Here ends the Reading. Thanks be to God.
THE HOLY GOSPEL
A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to John Glory to Christ our Saviour. At that time there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicode'mus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that you do, unless God is with him." Jesus answered him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born anew, he cannot see the kingdom of God." Nicode'mus said to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?" Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, `You must be born anew.' The wind blows where it wills, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know whence it comes or whither it goes; so it is with every one who is born of the Spirit." Nicode'mus said to him, "How can this be?" Jesus answered him, "Are you a teacher of Israel, and yet you do not understand this?
Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know, and bear witness to what we have seen; but you do not receive our testimony. If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things? No one has ascended into heaven but he who descended from heaven, the Son of man. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life."
For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. The Gospel of Christ. Praise to Christ our Lord.

From the Rector’s Notebook Greetings: T h e l a t e D r. M a r y Schaefer in an article entitled “Presence of the Trinity: Relationship or Idea” makes the point that our God is one in nature, God in three persons, ineffable. Dr. Schaefer went on to say in that article that in the eternal Trinity, unity and multiplicity are found together, each person, Father, Son and Holy Spirit really distance from each other and yet identically the divine essence. The very notion of Trinity brings to our minds the concept of relationship. Three persons functioning together in order to make this world work. Not only that, for the notion of Trinity would be far removed if did not touch the earth; the holy Trinity therefore calls us into relationship. The Three in one in relationship for us, with us and in us. Our own spiritual and theological outlook is inspired by the Holy Trinity and this is manifested both in our prayer life and in the sacred liturgy. Our prayer is always done in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and at those words of course we make the sign of the cross. The cross is of course for us that life-giving sign by which we recall God’s tremendous love for us .
!6
Every liturgical celebration begins with a trinitarian formula and the making of the sign of the cross. We must actively and consciously pay attention to the liturgical rites and take note of our own action and that of the priest. The collect at mass (and there should be one collect per mass only) ends with a formula such as through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. The sermon is always delivered in the name of the Holy Trinity, since there is no other name under or by whom we may speak. Here again we make the sign of the cross as we listen attentively to God’s word. Naturally the Creed, Prayers, Act of Penitence and Absolution are all under the divine name and then this heightens in the Eucharistic Prayer. After we have made our communion we are sent out to be God’s servant with a trinitarian blessing. We do all of this so that we may be aware that God calls us into relationship with himself and with each other and all those whom we meet from every walk of life. As we celebrate Trinity Sunday let us pray that God may strengthen our family relationships and create in us a deeper understanding of our faith and doctrine Your friend and priest, Noel A. Burke, MA (The Rev’d Canon) Rector

HEALTH CORNER By Sophia Marshall By now, you have started or plan to start some form of exercise. If you have, based on your frequency of exercise, are you meeting the recommendations to maintain good health? Below are the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) recommendations for healthy adults: WEEKLY FREQUENCY
DO THESE TYPES OF EXERCISES
(days per week devoted to an exercise program) At least 5
Moderate intensity aerobic (cardiovascular endurance) activities, weight-bearing exercise, flexibility exercise
At least 3
Vigorous intensity aerobic (cardiovascular endurance) activities, weight-bearing exercise, flexibility exercise
3-5
A combination of moderate and vigorous intensity aerobic activities, weight-bearing exercise, flexibility exercise
2-3
Muscular strength and endurance, resistance exercise, calisthenics, balance and agility exercise
(Source: ACSM’s Guidelines for Exercise Testing and Prescription, 8th Edition)
The Talk Test is a method which can be used to determine exercise intensity. It is based on one's ability to talk. The Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans suggests that moderate-intensity activity allows you to talk but not to sing, whereas more vigorous activity results in an inability to say more than a few words without pausing for a breath.
