THE COLLECT Almighty and everlasting God, you have given to us your servants grace, by the confession of a true faith, to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity, and in the power of your divine Majesty to worship the Unity: Keep us steadfast in this faith and worship, and bring us at last to see you in your one and eternal glory, O Father; who with the Son and the Holy Spirit live and reign, one God, for ever and ever. Amen THE FIRST READING:
READER:
A Reading from the Word of God written in Proverbs Chapter 8 beginning at the 1st verse.
Does not wisdom call, and does not understanding raise her voice? On the heights, beside the way, at the crossroads she takes her stand; beside the gates in front of the town, at the entrance of the portals she cries out: "To you, O people, I call, and my cry is to all that live. The LORD created me at the beginning of his work, the first of his acts of long ago. Ages ago I was set up, at the first, before the beginning of the earth. When there were no depths I was brought forth, when there were no springs abounding with water. Before the mountains had been shaped, before the hills, I was brought forth— when he had not yet made earth and fields, or the world's first bits of soil. When he established the !3
heavens, I was there, when he drew a circle on the face of the deep, when he made firm the skies above, when he established the fountains of the deep, when he assigned to the sea its limit, so that the waters might not transgress his command, when he marked out the foundations of the earth, then I was beside him, like a master worker; and I was daily his delight, rejoicing before him always, rejoicing in his inhabited world and delighting in the human race. Here ends the Reading Thanks be to God.
PSALM 8 Domine, Dominus noster 1. O LORD our Governor, * how exalted is your Name in all the world! 2. Out of the mouths of infants and children * your majesty is praised above the heavens. 3. You have set up a stronghold against your adversaries, * to quell the enemy and the avenger. 4. When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, * the moon and the stars you have set in their courses, 5. What is man that you should be mindful of him? * the son of man that you should seek him out? 6. You have made him but little lower than the angels; * you adorn him with glory and honor; 7. You give him mastery over the works of your hands; * you put all things under his feet: 8. All sheep and oxen, * even the wild beasts of the field, !4
 9. The birds of the air, the fish of the sea, * and whatsoever walks in the paths of the sea. 10. O LORD our Governor, * how exalted is your Name in all the world! V. Glory to the Father, and to the Son;*and to the Holy Spirit; R. As it was in the beginning is now:*and shall be forever. Amen THE EPISTLE READER: A Reading from the Word of God written in the
letter of Paul to the Romans Chapter 5 beginning at the 1st verse. Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand; and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God. And not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us. THE HOLY GOSPEL The Lord be with you. And also with you. A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to John Glory to Christ our Saviour. Jesus said "I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own, but will speak whatever he hears, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, because he will take what is mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is mine. For this reason I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you. The Gospel of Christ Praise to Christ our Lord.

From the Rector’s Notebook Greetings: Catherine Mowry LaCugna makes the point that Trinitarian patterns of prayer and praise permeate Christian worship. It is primarily the worship of God that helps us to recall and celebrate the very presence of God almighty who created the world and loves it to the extent that he assumes humanity. (John 3:16) LaCugna maintians that worship is permanently linked to salvation history; meaning that the creator is involved in the great movements about which we read in the Old Testament, acting through the Judges, speaking through the Prophets and coming among us as the beloved Son. Citing Thomas Talley's book, The Origins of the Liturgical Year”, LaCugna states that in the liturgical year which begins with Advent and culminates with the giving of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost Christians “relive” these events as well as their implications. When we celebrate Trinity Sunday we are saying that for the “Being” of God almighty himself. The One Being who at one and the same times is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We locate this Trinitarian Being in the sacramental rites of the church. Baptism, Confirmation, Communion, Penance, Matrimony, Ordination and Unction. In terms of the two primary sacraments we acknowledge that we are baptized in the name of the Most Holy Trinity and in the Eucharist we participate in the mystery of the Godhead as in the power of the Holy Spirit we are made one with God and each other. The doctrine or dogma of the Trinity as Karl Rahner says is not a being locked up within himself. He touches our lives in the midst of our turmoil and struggle. In the incarnation we acknowledge that God

becomes one with us even in our bodily weaknesses and illnesses. God alone has the power to transform us and brings strength out of weakness. The Apostle Paul testifies to this when he proclaims that the power of the Triune God is made perfect in weakness. (2 Corinthians 12:9) May God’s grace and mercy rest upon us and may we have a blessed Trinity Sunday. Your friend and priest, Noel A. Burke, MA (The Rev’d Canon) Rector

HEALTH CORNER BY: DR. SOPHIA MARSHALL
Blessed are they… Blessed are they who understand My faltering step and shaking hand. Blessed are they who know my ears today Must strain to hear the things they say.
Blessed are they who seem to know My eyes are dim and my answers slow. Blessed are they who look away When my tea was spilled at the table today. Blessed are they who with a cheery smile Will stop to chat for a little while. Blessed are they who never say “You’ve told that story twice today.” Blessed are they who know my ways And bring back memories of yesterdays. Blessed are they who ease the days And care for me in loving ways. Blessed are they who make it known I’m loved, respected and not alone.
