“With the challenges of the 21st century all around us, we must support our young people as they strive to become the leaders and innovators of tomorrow. I believe that NDI New Mexico can motivate children to do their best, to reach beyond their obvious capabilities and become strong future citizens (of) our state and the world.” – Barbara A. More Than Dance
At NDI New Mexico it’s about more than dance. It’s about providing children the tools they need to be successful in life, about the excellence we instill, and about the lives we change. We inspire children to strive for excellence with programs that enhance their self-confidence, academic achievement, health, and quality of life. We build character and success by encouraging each child to work hard, do their best, never give up, and be healthy. We promote community building by bringing together families, teachers and caring instructors, united through arts education, and in support of their children. Together, we are creating a future where children are engaged, productive, and joyful.

The Chi ldren’s Future Fund Will Create A Lasting Opportunity
To sustain, deepen, and expand our services to the many children and families who need them the most, NDI New Mexico must add $10 million to our permanent endowment with the creation of The Children’s Future Fund. In the past 27 years, NDI New Mexico programs have reached over 140,000 children and their families. We now annually serve 8,500 children, a majority of whom are economically disadvantaged, in public schools, native communities throughout New Mexico, and our own facilities. The Children’s Future Fund will ensure our ability to provide existing programs, create the capacity required to expand those programs, and deepen opportunities for children in New Mexico. The result will be a legacy of achievement and success that will reach far beyond this time and place. “Since NDI New Mexico opened its doors in Santa Fe in the early 1990s, they have literally changed thousands of children’s lives through their unique dance programs and performances. I should know – as a teacher… and as a father, I have seen first-hand how their programs powerfully affect children’s lives.” – Ed Gorman, Teacher SFPS and Parent

Let ’s Make The Vision A Reality
Two Core Areas To Support Children’s Success IN-SCHOOL PROGRAMMING
NDI New Mexico will sustain into perpetuity our public school outreach program through class endowments. By endowing as many in-school classes as possible, we will ensure that our highly effective, core program will provide life changing instruction to at-risk students across New Mexico for generations to come. NDI New Mexico currently partners with 100 public elementary schools and has another 100 schools on the waiting list. We are committed to solidifying our ability to serve existing and waitlist schools so that we can reach more students in the future. For donors who have “sponsored a class” in the past, a blended gift opportunity creates a lasting legacy of impact to brighten the future of New Mexico. A blended gift designates a portion of the contribution for current operations and the balance to the endowment for future use. Blended gifts are put to immediate use while also preparing NDI New Mexico for the future. A blended gift to sponsor a current in-school class and endow it over 5 years will: • Enhance
participants’ quality of life
• Improve
academic performance and attendance
• Promote
good health through fitness/nutrition curriculum

OUT-OF-SCHOOL OPPORTUNITIES As part of the $10,000,000 Children’s Future Fund Campaign, $1,500,000 will be dedicated to endow the next generation of advanced team dancers. Gifts of all sizes combine to magnify their power exponentially and add up to a significant contribution towards NDI New Mexico’s ability to empower and inspire youth in our communities. Afterschool, weekend, and summer programs help close the achievement gap and are critical for young people’s academic and overall success in life. NDI New Mexico’s out-of-school classes are offered on a sliding scale and are open to all children in the community. Classes include the Super Wonderful Advanced Teams (SWAT) and Celebration Teams, afterschool programs for children 3-18 at The Dance Barns and The Hiland Theater, summer outreach, and pre-professional programs. The Super Wonderful Advanced Training endowment will provide: • Positive

Excellence Now
And For The Future
NDI New Mexico, nationally recognized as a model for student success, helps to address gaps in New Mexico’s public schools for quality education that effectively supports lasting academic and personal development in children. Students who participate with NDI New Mexico show higher standardized test scores in all four areas of core curriculum and receive up to one grade point higher than other students in their district. Independent evaluation with over sixteen years of data from partners including New Mexico’s Public Education Department and the University of New Mexico confirms the impact of our work.

After 27 years of teaching children, NDI New Mexico has become known for our impact and quality. We have received local and national recognition for achievements in both programming and organizational excellence. The NDI New Mexico endowment, overseen by an Investment Committee comprised of community volunteers and outside asset management services, is the foundation of our financial security and ensures that our extraordinary programs will benefit both current and future generations. “NDI New Mexico has been the most influential force in my child’s life…My family and I are indebted to NDI New Mexico. We were not in a financial position to provide this special training when he was young but we were never turned away…” –Teresa Anaya Burney, Parent
