Welcome To the 19th Annual DREAMS Auction. Thank you to all of our Alumni, Friends and Business/Industry Partners who are attending tonight’s event. All of this year’s net Auction proceeds will go to the:

NDSCS FOUNDATION LEADERSHIP FUND This fund was created to help establish and sustain an NDSCS Leadership/Ambassador program. The fund will help create an ongoing NDSCS Ambassador program that will identify, recruit and establish the best and brightest of our students as ambassadors for NDSCS. This program will feature: leadership training with designated outcomes, it will bring business and industry leaders on to our campus for talks/discussions with the members of the Ambassador program, and it will help them succeed in their transition from student leader to business and industry leaders within the state of ND and the region.

FUND A PROGRAM All donations to the Fund a Program part of the evening will go to the donor’s designated Department or Program’s specified Endowment Fund. Your contribution to a specific department or program, together with other’s donations will be used by the dept. or program where needed, examples are: targeted recruiting, instructor development, student scholarships, etc.

All donations tonight will be eligible for a

$1.00 for every $2.00 State Challenge grant match of private donation dollars.

NORTH DAKOTA CHALLENGE GRANT MATCHING PROGRAM Tonight the net auction proceeds and most if not all of the Fund a Program donations will be eligible to be matched $1 for every $2 dollars donated – this match is made possible by 2013 ND State legislation that matches donations to the NDSCS Foundation that meet the requirements of the Challenge Grant Matching Program.

52 Card Raffle Game You have one half of a playing card. The other half was placed in a drawing. Listen when we draw the lucky card at 7:30 p.m. and at the live auction midpoint. Up to seven contestants will have a qualifying match to the one drawn. Each contestant will draw a card from a new deck of cards. The highest card wins the prize.

Heads or Tails Game Use your Wildcat “Heads/Tails” paddle to signal your choice when asked by the auctioneer and if you pick correctly you will move one step forward to winning the prize for that round.

Auction Information Valet Parking If you choose to use valet parking, please drive to the front door of the Clair T. Blikre Activities Center on the circular driveway. Student ambassadors will provide you with a ticket in exchange for your keys and will park your car. The parking lot north of the building will be reserved for valet parking only.

Check-In All pre-registered guests should check in upon arrival at the check-in tables, as you enter. Here you will receive your bid number, raffles, any pre-purchased beverage tickets, and your table assignment. Please keep these items with you throughout the event. The auction books are available at your table. Anyone who has not pre-registered will be redirected to register at the “Information/Checkout Area”, located on the left of the arena entrance.

NEW! - To provide you a speedy checkout, credit cards will be swiped when you arrive at check-in. Just like checking into a hotel, your card will be charged for your purchases after the event. We accept VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. If your payment plan includes cash or check, then you will not be required to provide a credit card.

Payment and Pickup At the conclusion of the auction, credit card users may pick up their receipt or we will mail it to you. Cashier lines will be available for cash and check payments. All checks should be made payable to the “NDSCS Foundation”. Successful bidders are expected to pay for the item at the cashier’s area. All items must be paid for in full and removed from the Clair T. Blikre Activities Center on the evening of the auction, (larger items on Saturday morning). All sales are final and there will be no exchange or refund on items.

Sales Tax According to the North Dakota Sales Tax law, we are obligated to charge sales tax on selected items from the auction. The tax will be reflected on your receipt. (Gift Certificates and tickets are exempt from this tax.)

Charging to your Bid Number For your convenience you will be able to charge your beverage tickets to your bid number. Charge slips will be added to your billing at the cashier table.

Sales & Certificates Please read your catalog and certificates carefully! Values listed in the catalog are donor-stated values or appraisals and as such are not warranted for tax purposes or for general value. All trips, items, and services must be used during the designated dates and within the guidelines. Certain items are represented by certificates, letters or business cards for products or services and must be presented to the donor to redeem the service. Certificates and accessories for items will be available at the cashier table when you check out.

Alcohol Beverages Beverage tickets are available for purchase next to the East end bar and the Arena Entrance bar. You must purchase a beverage ticket to be punched; no cash will be accepted at the bar. Unused beverage tickets are non-refundable and may not be redeemed for tips. No one under the age of 21 is allowed to be served alcoholic beverages. Student Ambassadors are not allowed to carry for you or serve any alcohol to your table. Please respect this policy and not put these students in an uncomfortable situation.

Tipping Tipping is not required, but appreciated. All tips provided to valet, VIP wait staff, and bartenders will be donated to the NDSCS Alumni Foundation.

Good Faith Statement The auction committee has endeavored to catalog and describe the items and services correctly.

Everything is sold “as is.” Certain items and services may have restrictive use or other qualifications that may affect the value, application or use to the bidder. Some of the items may not be transferable.

Purchasers are bound by the precise restrictions specified by the donor.

Bidding Process Live Auction The auctioneer conducts the live auction and has the final word on an auction item. Hold your bid cards up high when you wish to bid on a live auction item.

Silent Auction The silent auction is divided into sections, each section closes at various times. Please make sure to bid early, check often and place your highest bid before the section closes. You may purchase the item at any time before closing by placing your bid number in the “guaranteed price”, listed at the bottom of the sheet.

On behalf of the NDSCS faculty, staff and students it is my pleasure to welcome you to our 19th Annual DREAMS Auction! Thank you for your participation and support of this extraordinary event. Your attendance and participation helps the NDSCS Alumni Foundation fund the support they provide to students and NDSCS. Our priority is to attract, retain, educate, train, graduate, and place a workforce that will help grow North Dakota’s economy. We have fulfilled that accountability by steadily and dependably providing a safe, clean, healthy, green, tech-savvy, affordable and accountable, world-class educational environment where students gain real-world skills working with real-world technologies and equipment.
