Greetings from NDSCS President, Dr. John Richman and Alumni/Foundation Director, Kim Nelson Welcome and thank you for attending the 24th Annual DREAMS Auction. Preparing students for the career of their DREAMS is our ultimate goal at NDSCS. Career options are aligned with interests, skills and values. Several programs allow students to test drive their futures with internships, networking opportunities and tangible experiences for their resumes. Your participation in this evening’s event shows your commitment to the “Tradition of Success” and moving students toward those dreams! Please enjoy the student-led hospitality, amazing food, entertainment, social atmosphere, games of chance and photo opportunities. The DREAMS Auction is the annual fundraiser for the NDSCS Alumni Foundation with the purpose of increasing financial resources for programs, scholarships and the activities of the Foundation. We will be utilizing an online bidding process for tonight’s Silent Auction items. The Student Ambassadors are available to assist you. Thank You for Helping Us Continue the Tradition of
SUCCESS Our three featured 2019 Programs for the Wall of DREAMS Fundraiser this year are the NDSCS Nursing Program, the NDSCS Ambassador Program and the Wildcat Cares Fund. The NDSCS Nursing Program is raising funds to purchase a new high-fidelity simulator for the nursing students to practice skills. They have raised over $38,000 from the Giving Hearts Day campaign over the past few years and received a matching grant from the West Central Initiative for $52,000 to put toward the simulation manikin. We are hoping to raise enough funds tonight to secure this important piece of equipment for their department. The goal for the Sim Man 3G is $116,638.
The NDSCS Ambassador Program is a select leadership group that represents the college and engages with the Wahpeton/Breckenridge and Fargo/Moorhead communities and NDSCS partners. The NDSCS Ambassador students assist the Alumni Foundation with Homecoming events, the DREAMS Auction, calling campaigns and other campus activities. Your support provides student leadership opportunities, scholarships and support for expenses related to the program.
The NDSCS Wildcat Cares Fund is a student emergency fund to provide financial assistance to NDSCS students who face unforeseen emergency or crisis situations. Funds are awarded in the form of gift cards to help alleviate short-term financial hardships. The mission of this fund is to help students stay enrolled during an unexpected financial crisis.

Featured Guest Artist Wahpeton native, Shawn McCann, is a chalk artist, street painter, award-winning children’s book illustrator and muralist. He graduated from Wahpeton High School and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. His work has taken him all over the United States and abroad.
Shawn will be painting a 24” x 36” canvas of Old Main during the DREAMS Auction. Stop by and watch him in action. The Shawn McCann original painting will be the final item on the Live Auction this evening. He has shared his talent locally uptown Wahpeton, at the Chahinkapa Zoo and at the Boiler Room in Wahpeton.

Auction Information Valet Parking Valet parking is provided at the south door of the Clair T. Blikre Activities Center on the circular driveway. The NDSCS Diesel club students will provide this service. The North parking lot is reserved for valet parking only. Check-In Upon arrival, you will be directed to the registration table. At check-in you will be asked to provide a cell phone number to participate in the online bidding. To provide you a speedy checkout, credit cards will be swiped at check-in. Just like checking into a hotel, your card will only be charged for your purchases at the event. We accept VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. We also accept cash or checks; checks should be made payable to the “NDSCS Foundation.” Online Bidding Process You can access Wi-Fi in the Blikre Activities Center with the password: dreamsauction. Use your own smartphone or tablet to place your bids online. Directions are provided on your check-in envelope. We also have talented NDSCS Ambassadors available to assist you. If you are out-bid on an item, you will receive a text message. Payment and Pickup If you swiped your credit card at registration, you may pick up your purchased items or certificates and a receipt will be mailed to you within a week. A cashier is available at the check-out table if you would like a receipt or to pay with a check. All checks should be made payable to the “NDSCS Foundation.” All items must be paid in full and removed from the Clair T. Blikre Activities Center on the evening of the auction (larger items can be picked up on Saturday morning by 10:00 a.m.). All sales are final with no exchange or refund on items. Charging to your Bid Number For your convenience, you will be able to charge your beverage tickets, raffle chances, and Wall of DREAMS donations to your bid number. Charge slips will be added to your billing statement. Sales Tax According to the North Dakota Sales Tax law, we are obligated to charge sales tax on selected items from the auction. The tax will be reflected on your receipt. (Gift Certificates and all Event Tickets are exempt from this tax.)

Sales & Certificates Please read your catalog and certificates carefully! Values listed in the catalog are donor-stated values or appraisals and as such, are not warranted for tax purposes or for general value. All trips, items, and services must be used during the designated dates and within the guidelines on certificates. Certain items are represented by certificates, letters or business cards for products or services and must be presented to the donor to redeem the service. Certificates and accessories for items will be available at the cashier table when you check out. The Foundation is not responsible for lost certificates after checkout. Alcoholic Beverages Beverage tickets are available for purchase next to the East end bar and the Arena entrance. You must purchase a beverage ticket to be punched; no cash will be accepted at the bar. Unused beverage tickets are non-refundable and may not be redeemed for tips. No one under the age of 21 is allowed to be served alcoholic beverages. Student Ambassadors are not allowed to carry for you or serve any alcohol to your table. Please respect this policy so students are not put in an uncomfortable situation. Bidding Process Live Auction:
The auctioneer conducts the live auction and has the final word on an auction item. Hold your bid cards up high when you wish to bid on a live auction item. Silent & Premier Auction:
The silent auction is divided into two sections, the Silent and Premier areas available through online bidding. The Silent Auction area will close at 9:00 p.m. and the Premier Silent Auction area will close at approximately 9:15 p.m. Guaranteed Price:
You may purchase the silent or premier auction item at any time before closing, by using the online bidding and selecting the “Buy Now”. Tipping Tipping is not required, but appreciated. All tips provided to the bartenders and coat check will support student programs and activities on campus. Tips for the Valet Parking are donated to the Diesel Club. Good Faith Statement The auction committee has strived to catalog and describe the items and services correctly. Everything is sold “as is.” Certain items and services may have restrictive use or other qualifications that may affect the value, application or use to the bidder. Some of the items may not be transferable. Purchasers are bound by the precise restrictions specified by the donor. LeMar Photo Booth LeMar Photography of Wahpeton is providing a photo booth for our DREAMS Auction guests to capture their evening with family, friends and co-workers. This is a complimentary feature with your purchased ticket. The professional photos will be accessible for downloading approximately a week after the event.
