CUMULATIVE GIVING REPORT NDSCS has a rich history full of wonderful success stories related to students, alumni, faculty, staff, retirees, friends and donors. We appreciate the generosity and dedication of our NDSCS Alumni Foundation donors. We are stronger together. Henry Ford said, “Coming together is the beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.” In this report, recognition is given to individuals, groups, foundations, organizations and businesses. NORTH DAKOTA CHALLENGE GRANT OPPORTUNITY The North Dakota Challenge Grant Program allows donations to the NDSCS Foundation to be matched by the state of North Dakota by 50%, however, time of the essence as the deadline of December 1, 2020 is approaching. Your gift can be up front or pledged over a period of five years and still qualify for the matching funds. Many donors have used this opportunity to start scholarships at NDSCS. For example, if you pledged $25,000 over 5 years, the Foundation would receive the $12,500 right away as the state’s match and the scholarship when the pledges are fulfilled would be $37,500. We are grateful to all the donors who have so passionately given to the NDSCS Foundation and utilized this opportunity. Rewarding Career Started at NDSCS Not everyone wants the same thing out of career. A lot of what makes a job satisfying is very personal. Arlen Booth, an NDSCS 1964 Building Construction Technology graduate, had a rewarding 43-year career with Caterpillar Inc. in the Engineering and Plant Engineering divisions. Booth was influenced by a Sioux Falls, SD neighbor who also attended NDSCS, the course listings in the campus catalog and a scholarship from Lampert Lumber Company. He gained summer experience pouring concrete and the basics of carpentry, plumbing and electrical while working for a master craftsman modernizing a church camp. It was there he made the decision to attend a trades school to learn more about the construction industry. A highlight for Booth was playing on the 1962 NDSSS Championship Football team under coach Skip Butte. NDSCS provided a great learning experience and the staff had applicable knowledge from the construction field to share with the students. The technical degree provided the skill set for Booth to experience many adventures as he managed construction and renovation projects in Illinois, Arizona, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Mexico, Ireland and 48 trips to China. Booth is currently a Factory Planning Consultant last working in 2019 in Saint Charles, MO on a new factory. Arlen and his wife, Carol, recently started an endowment scholarship to benefit future NDSCS students enrolled in the Building Construction Technology program. They were able to utilize the North Dakota Challenge Matching Grant program to increase their scholarship. He and his wife enjoy using those construction skills on a smaller scale - working on doll houses they donate as gifts. Be watching for one of his renovated doll houses as a featured item for the 2021 DREAMS Auction.

NDSCS continues to grow its investment portfolio for increased payouts to student scholarships and program enhancements.
The NDSCS Foundation is proud of the number of academically and technically talented students who enter the College each year. We are proud that many of the students who apply receive some sort of scholarship annually.
