The DREAMS Auction event has become one of the best events in the Red River Valley.

Our campus employees, community businesses, Foundation sponsors, and especially our students and Ambassadors have become a vital part of the past 22 years of success.

Your attendance and willingness to support this event as a true fundraiser to the NDSCS Foundation provides us the means to continue our mission and connect to those with a passion for NDSCS. I believe the most rewarding part of my position is watching generations of alumni and friends gather in one location. AUCTION INFORMATION Valet Parking If you choose to use valet parking, please drive to the front door of the Clair T. Blikre Activities Center on the circular driveway. The NDSCS Diesel club will provide you with a ticket in exchange for your keys and will park your car and return the car to you in the same spot at the end of the evening. The football field parking lot will be reserved for valet parking only.

Check-In All pre-registered guests should check in upon arrival at the registration tables. Here you will receive your bid number, heads & tails paddles, any pre-purchased beverage tickets, and your table assignment. Please keep these items with you throughout the event. Extra auction books are available. Anyone who has not pre-registered will be redirected to register at the Information Area.

To provide you a speedy checkout, credit cards will be swiped when you arrive at check-in. Just like checking into a hotel, your card will only be charged for your purchases at the event. We accept VISA, MasterCard and Discover. We also accept cash or checks, checks should be made payable to “NDSCS Foundation.”

Text2Bid – 2nd YEAR! “Remember to bring your Phone” Please be sure to bring your smart phone with you this year, because all silent and premier auction bidding will take place on your phone. We assure you this will be EASY and painless for all. We have very skilled and talented NDSCS Ambassadors available to assist you. We are excited to share this new process with you. If you do not have a smart phone, no worries, we will have students with iPads to help you bid.

Payment and Pickup At the conclusion of the auction, please make your way to the cashier line to receive your receipt and certificates. All checks should be made payable to the “NDSCS Foundation”. Successful bidders are expected to pay for the item at the cashier’s area. All items must be paid in full and removed from the Clair T. Blikre Activities Center on the evening of the auction (larger items can be picked up on Saturday morning). All sales are final and there will be no exchange or refund on items.

Charging to your Bid Number For your convenience, you will be able to charge your beverage tickets to your bid number. Charge slips will be added to your billing statement.

Sales Tax According to the North Dakota Sales Tax law, we are obligated to charge sales tax on selected items from the auction. The tax will be reflected on your receipt. (Gift Certificates and Tickets are exempt from this tax.)

Sales & Certificates Please read your catalog and certificates carefully! Values listed in the catalog are donor-stated values or appraisals and as such, are not warranted for tax purposes or for general value. All trips, items, and services must be used during the designated dates and within the guidelines. Certain items are represented by certificates, letters or business cards for products or services and must be presented to the donor to redeem the service. Certificates and accessories for items will be available at the cashier table when you check out. The Foundation is not responsible for lost certificates after checkout.

Alcoholic Beverages Beverage tickets are available for purchase next to the East end bar and the Arena entrance. You must purchase a beverage ticket to be punched; no cash will be accepted at the bar. Unused beverage tickets are non-refundable and may not be redeemed for tips. No one under the age of 21 is allowed to be served alcoholic beverages. Student Ambassadors are not allowed to carry for you or serve any alcohol to your table. Please respect this policy so students are not put in an uncomfortable situation.

Bidding Process Live Auction The auctioneer conducts the live auction and has the final word on an auction item. Hold your bid cards up high when you wish to bid on a live auction item.

Silent & Premier Auction The silent auction is divided into two sections, The Silent Auction area will close at 9:00 p.m. and the Premier Silent Auction area will close at 9:45 p.m.

Guaranteed Price You may purchase the silent or premier auction item at any time before closing, by texting and selecting the “guaranteed price”.

Tipping Tipping is not required, but appreciated. All tips provided to the bartenders will be donated to the NDSCS Alumni Foundation. VIP waitresses split their tips. Tips for the Valet are donated to the Diesel Club.

Good Faith Statement The auction committee has strived to catalog and describe the items and services correctly. Everything is sold “as is.” Certain items and services may have restrictive use or other qualifications that may affect the value, application or use to the bidder. Some of the items may not be transferable. Purchasers are bound by the precise restrictions specified by the donor.

FUND-A-DREAM Fund-a-DREAM started a few years ago as an introduction to finding additional ways to raise funds during this event. When the last item on the live auction ends, you might find you wanted to participate in purchasing an item, but did not end up with the highest bid.

You still have a chance to donate and help the Foundation or a Program.

Auctioneer Cary Aasness will invite you to raise your paddle high to make a donation; a runner will come to your table, for your signature and bid number that will be charged to your account. If you are not comfortable with raising your bid number, we have provided cards on your table, like the one below.
