Tonight we introduce another era of technology …. Text2Bid. Each year we strive to create an environment of fun and excitement that helps the foundation raise dollars. I believe the most rewarding part of this position is watching generations of alumni and friends gather in one location. We have alumni from as early as the 1940’s, to our current student ambassadors and volunteers, blended for one common goal to:

Welcome Alumni and Friends to the 21ST Annual DREAMS Auction Greetings! On behalf of the NDSCS faculty, staff and students I am delighted to welcome you to our 21st Annual DREAMS Auction! Thank you for your involvement and support of this wonderful event.

Enjoy the evening as you renew friendships, make new contacts and visit with the student ambassadors. Thank you for contributing to the success of this evening.

This extraordinary event would not be possible without the awesome teamwork of so many of our NDSCS family members.

A special thank you to our NDSCS Foundation, our top-notch Culinary Arts Students, our devoted faculty and staff members and the many community volunteers involved with this event.

AUCTION INFORMATION Valet Parking If you choose to use valet parking, please drive to the front door of the Clair T. Blikre Activities Center on the circular driveway. The NDSCS Diesel club will provide you with a ticket in exchange for your keys and will park your car. The football field parking lot will be reserved for valet parking only.

Check-In All pre-registered guests should check in upon arrival at the registration tables, as you enter. Here you will receive your bid number, heads & tails paddles, any pre-purchased beverage tickets, and your table assignment. Please keep these items with you throughout the event. Extra auction books are available. Anyone who has not pre-registered will be redirected to register at the Information Area. To provide you a speedy checkout, credit cards will be swiped when you arrive at check-in.

Just like checking into a hotel, your card will be charged for your purchases after the event. We accept VISA, MasterCard and Discover. If your payment plan includes cash or check, then you will not be required to provide a credit card.

Text2Bid – NEW this YEAR!! “Remember to bring your Phone” Please be sure to bring your smart phone with you this year. New to the silent auction is the Text2Bid. This means all silent and premier silent auction will take place on your phone, no more paper bidding. We ensure you that this will be EASY and painless for all. We have very skilled and talented NDSCS Student Ambassadors that will be here to assist you. We are excited to share this new technology with you. If you do not have a smart phone, no worries, we will have students with iPads to help you bid. “Don’t be left out! Be sure to bring your phone!”

Payment and Pickup At the conclusion of the auction, please make your way to the cashier line to receive your receipt and certificates. All checks should be made payable to the “NDSCS Foundation”. Successful bidders are expected to pay for the item at the cashier’s area. All items must be paid for in full and removed from the Clair T. Blikre Activities Center on the evening of the auction (larger items can be picked up on Saturday morning). All sales are final and there will be no exchange or refund on items.

Charging to your Bid Number For your convenience, you will be able to charge your beverage tickets and games of chance to your bid number. Charge slips will be added to your billing statement.

Sales Tax According to the North Dakota Sales Tax law, we are obligated to charge sales tax on selected items from the auction. The tax will be reflected on your receipt. (Gift Certificates and Tickets are exempt from this tax.)

Sales & Certificates Please read your catalog and certificates carefully! Values listed in the catalog are donor-stated values or appraisals and as such are not warranted for tax purposes or for general value. All trips, items, and services must be used during the designated dates and within the guidelines. Certain items are represented by certificates, letters or business cards for products or services and must be presented to the donor to redeem the service. Certificates and accessories for items will be available at the cashier table when you check out. The Foundation is not responsible for lost certificates after checkout.

Alcoholic Beverages Beverage tickets are available for purchase next to the East end bar and the Arena entrance. You must purchase a beverage ticket to be punched; no cash will be accepted at the bar. Unused beverage tickets are non-refundable and may not be redeemed for tips. No one under the age of 21 is allowed to be served alcoholic beverages. Student Ambassadors are not allowed to carry for you or serve any alcohol to your table. Please respect this policy so students are not put in an uncomfortable situation.

Bidding Process Live Auction The auctioneer conducts the live auction and has the final word on an auction item. Hold your bid cards up high when you wish to bid on a live auction item.

Silent Auction The silent auction is divided into two sections, The Silent Auction area will close at 9:00 p.m. and the Premier Silent Auction area will close 10 minutes after the Live Auction has ended. You may purchase the item at any time before closing, bidding by text and selecting the “guaranteed price”.

Tipping Tipping is not required, but appreciated. All tips provided to the bartenders will be donated to the NDSCS Alumni Foundation. Tips for the Valet will be donated to the Diesel Club.

Good Faith Statement The auction committee has endeavored to catalog and describe the items and services correctly.

Everything is sold “as is.” Certain items and services may have restrictive use or other qualifications that may affect the value, application or use to the bidder. Some of the items may not be transferable.

Purchasers are bound by the precise restrictions specified by the donor.
