Strolling through the Danish town of Silkeborg, my friend Russ and I discovered
an interesting shop that was in the process of being restored.
The walls were covered with layers of old paint in the plaster, obviously going back many years.
I thought this could be a very interesting backdrop for photo exhibitions.
This would make a great gallery exactly as it looks, blotches and all, I pondered.
We were invited in to examine the place and take photos of those interesting walls.
However, the next time we walked by the shop everything was painted white.
This book is a collection of the images that those walls evoked in me.
Because we were too slow to make a deal with the owner, we never held an exibition.
But this book is a product of the inspiration we experienced that day.
Maybe that inspiration was really meant to create this book.
