LEARN ENABLE INSPIRE LEADING THROUGH GREAT CONVERSATIONS

Great companies don’t hire skilled people and motivate them, they hire already motivated people and inspire them. Unless you give motivated people something to believe in, something bigger than their job to work toward, they will motivate themselves to find a new job and you’ll be stuck with whoever’s left. GREAT CONVERSATIONS Leading and managing people in Higher Education can be complex and challenging. In order to navigate effectively in this culture, people managers need to have confidence, clarity, and agility, and be equipped to harness the experience and diversity offered by their team members. Great managers understand what motivates each person in their team, and why they come to work each day.

Here at the University of Salford, we’re investing strongly in our new people managers. The Salford Managers' Programme is our manager induction, aimed at people who have become people managers here within the last 12 months. It’s designed to support you in your role, and should help to strengthen your skills, knowledge and capabilities overall in people management and leadership.

The University of Salford

It has been co-designed with a group of your peers to enable you to understand the role of people managers here at Salford. Depending on your background and level of experience, some content may act as a refresher, however the rest should allow you to focus on contemporary challenges and identify which of your habits are still serving you well.
