The sixth National Conference on Social Innovation (NCSI), which is an annual celebration of the spirit of innovation and social innovators was organized by PIC in association with National Innovation Foundation (NIF) and Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) on 17th November. The Chief Guest for the conference was state cabinet minister, Shri. Girish Bapat. The innovators were selected from hundreds of applications received from 17 States and one Union Territory. After a rigorous two round evaluation by the Expert Evaluation Committee, 18innovators were selected. The daylong conference witnessed 250+ attendees which included 35+ CSRs, impact investors, students and other Punekars.

Prof. Sanjeev Dhurandhar spoke on ‘Nobel Prize in Physics 2017: The Discovery of Gravitational Waves’ as part of the PIC’s lecture Series titled “Crazy about Science and Technology”. Prof. Dhurandhar narrated the story of discovery of the first gravitational waves in 2015.He also shared his experience while working with the Nobel award winning scientists at the Laser Interferometer Gravitational Waves Observatory (LIGO).
