Neetish Sarda’s father Mr Ghanshyam Sarda is an industrialist from Calcutta, West Bengal. He was born in August 1959. He owns the INR 2500 crore Sarda Group of Industries, which primarily trades in the jute and information technology industries. He concentrated his attention entirely on the jute sector, which had previously been India's largest source of export earnings. The Sarda Group of Industries is based in Kolkata and has operations throughout West Bengal. Currently, the firm operates eight jute mills that generate roughly 500 tonnes of jute products each day. Sarda Group, which employs around 50,000 people, is one of West Bengal's largest employers. Ghanshyam also helped to establish the Ram Dev Sarda Maha Vidyalaya in Bihar's Purnea area. This management college was founded by the Sarda Group's Chandrakala Devi Sarda Charitable Trust in remembrance of Late Mr Shiwlal Sarda. He was named as “Asia One Global Asian of the Year” by the Asian Business and Social Forum for 2019-20 and also received an award from Honourable Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for his contribution to the revitalization of the jute sector.
