A SaaS-based Portfolio Management Tool to Assess Organization Health Neev developed a Portfolio Management tool to help Chorus monitor the health of their client organizations. The tool helped significantly increase the speed of their client’s decision making process and also provided the perfect balance on cost and productivity. The entire system was developed in a matter of seven months.
The Client: Established in 1995, Chorus develops and markets healthcare management software solutions and services. The company provides software for physician practice management and managed care. Chorus products include Chorus Practice Management System, electronic health records system and Chorus Learning Management System. Additionally, it provides electronic claim services and managed IT services.
Business Need: Chorus wanted a tool to be used by the top management of their clients to monitor the organization. The tool was to allow them to organize data about the resources, develop a rating system and quantitatively measure the parameters that contribute to the organization’s health. Once this is done, it would present a detailed analysis of the organization.
Neev Solution: Neev followed a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) in the development of the tool and deployed the same using a SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) model. Every organization is entered as a portfolio in the system. The generic system can then model and manage any organization by offering a drill down to the specific entities within the organization like users, hardware etc. The organization is divided into object groups (logical divisions) each consisting of:
Fields: may contain number of users, hardware etc. Field Groups: each field may belong to one or more of these field groups Ratings Field: objects in the group will be rated Rating Groups: ratings can be classified into groups as well Life Cycle Phases: each object will have certain life cycle phases such as Production, QA etc. Neev also extended service and support for the system.
