The Chanana welfare foundation with Radhika Chanana, as the founder trustee has expanded their work supporting Women empowerment. Working in villages in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, The Chanana Welfare Foundation has now started Adult education classes supporting older women to read and write. The vocational schools, teaching women sewing and tailoring have increased from 1 to 3, each teaching 60 women a year. Building and maintaining Toilets in community centres and Govt schools. ‘An educated Woman will help her family come out of poverty faster, accordingly the UN’ said Radhika Chanana. It is so importantly help and support women and their families.

The Chanana welfare foundation generously donated dry rations to the under privileged children at Ekjut Jamghat and blankets to the elderly and homeless at The Earth Saviours Foundation. Radhika Chanana of The Chanana Welfare Foundation states, that it is very important that we help and support the under privileged. The Educational centres for girls, supported and fully funded by The Chanana Welfare Foundation are in Kotak Alampur Village and Gadarjudda Village in Haryana. Two different types of courses are offered. Drop out classes, which has a total of 31 girls and Remedial classes which have 46 girls enrolled.

• The Two vocational schools set up by The Chanana Welfare Foundation, inspired by Radhika Chanana, to support women, to empower them with a vocation. The schools are set up and fully funded by The Chanana Welfare Foundation, working with Youthreach. These are in Sawatwali Village, Roorkee and Kurdee Village, Narin block, Roorkee. The women undergo training in Cutting and Tailoring, a total of 62 ladies are enrolled for 6 months, after which they can supplement their incomes, by Tailoring and Stiching. ‘These women are so bright, eager to learn and hardworking, it’s a real pleasure to help them’.


• The two Educational centres for girls are set up by The Chanana Welfare Foundation, to help realise the goal of Women education. These two centres are in Haryana, in Kotak Alampur Village and Gadarjudda Village. There are two courses offered, Drop out classes for girls who have left school, and have no other means of education. There are a total of 31 girls enrolled, in this course. The second course offered is Remedial classes, for girls needing extra help with her work. There are 46 girls enrolled in these classes. ‘These girls are so positive, wanting to learn and progress. So proud of all of them’, says Radhika Chanana. Our goal of helping and supporting Women through Education is the reason for setting up these centres. These centres are fully funded and maintained by The Chanana Welfare Foundation.
