About the ECO Canada Internship Program
The ECO Canada Internship Program gives eligible employers up to $15,000 to hire interns for full-time, meaningful environmental jobs related to one or multiple STEM fields - Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics that also have a positive environmental impact. EYC is funded by the Government of Canada through their Youth Employment Strategy (YES) - Science Horizons funding. NRCAN is funded by the Government of Canada through Natural Resources Canada’s Green Jobs Initiative – Science and Technology Internship Program, as part of the Youth Employment Strategy (YES). Internships typically last 12 months and are intended to lead to permanent employment.
How does the program work?
Who’s eligible? o o o o
Hosts Canadian owned or a Canadian subsidiary Offering a full-time, permanent position Providing an environmental position in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics. Planning to hire a new employee (the intern cannot be an existing employee)

Interns Intend to lead an environmental career related to Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics. Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident, or Canadian refugee status. 30 years of age or younger Graduated from a recognized post-secondary institution with a minimum 2 year program Able to work in a full-time, permanent position Unemployed or underemployed Not currently employed at the host organization Not a family member of the host organizations’ directors or senior officers.
