We don't do it for the attention. We don't do it for the recognition. We don't do it for the personal gain. And we certainly don't do it for the awards. We do it for you.

Catholic Health is the winner of Press Ganey’s 2025 HRO Foundation Award for exceptional reliability and patient safety.

At Catholic Health, we pursue the very best in health care for one reason only: you. Every single one of you that walks through our doors, every day. So, while we’re honored by this recognition, we also know there’s no finish line in health care. There’s always a new goal just over the horizon, and a new level of excellence for us to achieve for the health of Long Island.

Longtime Village Employee Retires

The Village of Lindenhurst would like to congratulate Gay Bodenschatz, a committed public servant, on her retirement after 25 years of exceptional service to the community.

Gay Bodenschatz quickly became a valued member

Town Of Babylon Warns Residents About Scammers Posing As Town Employees

The Town of Babylon is reminding residents to be vigilant after reports of scammers posing as town employees to gain access to homes. All official Town of Babylon employees carry government-issued ID badges and will always present them upon request.

“We take the safety of our residents very seriously,” said Supervisor Rich Schaffer. “No one should feel pressured to let a stranger into their home. If you have any concerns, ask for ID and call 311—we are happy to verify any Town employee’s credentials.”

Residents should never allow anyone claiming to be a Town worker into their home without first verifying their identity. If there is any doubt, residents can call 311 to confirm whether an individual is a legitimate Town employee.

The Town urges residents to take the following precautions:

• Ask to see ID –All official Town employees will carry Town-issued identification.

• Verify legitimacy –Call 311 to confirm if someone is a Town

employee.

• Report suspicious activity – If someone refuses to show ID or seems suspicious, do not let them in and call local law enforcement immediately. This warning follows a recent incident in which a West Babylon resident was scammed and burglarized by individuals falsely claiming to be Town workers. The Town of Babylon encourages residents to stay informed and share this message with friends and neighbors.

LINDE NHURST: 1

Fourth Annual Lindenhurst St. Patrick’s Parade

The sun was shining bright, and the Irish-eyes of Lindenhurst were smiling even brighter at the Fourth Annual Lindenhurst St. Patrick’s Parade! The 2025 Parade took place on Saturday, March 29th, at 12:00 PM, and was led by Grand Marshals Joseph & Marguerite Danaher.

The Danahers, long-time Lindenhurst residents and local business owners, have been fierce supporters of the Parade since its inception, with Joe marching every year as a proud member of the Amityville American Legion Pipe Band, and Meg’s WealthWave Financial Group’s (formerly Danaher Wealth Management) generous annual Parade Sponsorship.  Joe & Meg embody faith, service, and commitment to their family, the Lindenhurst community, and their Irish heritage, making them the perfect choice as the 2025 Parade Grand Marshals. The Danahers chose the Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville & the First Responders Children’s Foundation as the recipients of the 2025 Parade’s charitable donation.

Thanks to the support of sponsors, such as Belfast Gastropub, Lindenhurst Chamber of Commerce, OLPH Knights of Columbus Council #794, Suffolk County Department of Economic Development and Planning, Village of Lindenhurst, WealthWave Financial Group, and East

Neck Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, among many others, the Fourth Annual Lindenhurst St. Patrick’s Parade saw hundreds of Irish pipers, drummers, dancers, local firefighters, scouting troops, fraternal groups, community organizations, businesses, and elected officials march down Wellwood

Avenue, through the beautiful, historic Lindenhurst Downtown Business District.

The Parade festivities also took a pause to honor the memory of NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller, who was killed in the line of duty last year. The Nassau County Police Department Pipes and Drums

played a beautiful, moving rendition of “Amazing Grace”, and all stopped for a moment of silence in respect for Officer Diller and his family.

Make sure your calendars are marked for next year’s Parade -- March 21st, 2026! All parade information can be found at www.lindenhurststpatricksparade.org.

Pictured here (left to right) are: Lindenhurst Village Trustee Maryann Weckerle, Deputy Mayor & Parade Committee Co-President RJ Renna, Village Clerk & Parade Committee Secretary Katie Schrader, Proprietor of Belfast Gastro Pub & Parade Committee Co-President David Crowe, 2025 Parade Grand Marshals Meg & Joseph Danaher, Suffolk County Legislature Presiding Officer & Parade Committee Member Kevin J. McCaffrey, Mayor Michael Lavorata, and Trustee Douglas Madlon.

Why Is Easter Sunday Such An Important Christian Holiday?

Christians around the world fill church pews on Easter Sunday to participate in one of the holiest and most important celebrations of the liturgical year. Although every Sunday presents opportunities to share in the word of God, Easter Sunday is an especially significant date on the Christian calendar. Each Easter, Christians celebrate the miracle of Christ’s defeat over death

through his resurrection and ascension to his father’s side in heaven. However awe-inspiring, Easter is much more than this event and its retelling. Easter actually is the core of the Christian religion as it has come to be known, including inspiring the rituals and teachings that have been shared for nearly 2,000 years. Without the events that unfolded during Holy Week, the Christian faith would not

exist as it was prophesied. Christ’s selfless sacrifice on the cross for others’ sins, as well as his miraculous resurrection, are the anchors upon which all of Christianity has been built.

In 1 Corinthians 15:17, St. Paul wrote, “And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins.” Pope Benedict VVI similarly summarized St. Paul’s words, indicating that if the resurrection

were taken away, it may be possible to piece together ideas about God and men, but the Christian faith would be “dead.” In his book, Jesus of Nazareth, Pope Benedict further wrote, “Jesus would be a failed religious leader… he would then remain purely human, and his authority would extend only so far as his message is of interest to us.”

According to Christianity.com, Easter is

part of the redemptive plan of mankind. It is worthy of celebration because it proved to people that Jesus is the Son of God. This gives Christians confidence that there is life after death, and they will have the same power working in them that raised Jesus from the dead.

Out of Holy Week and Easter also came the start of Christian masses. On Holy Thursday, Jesus introduced his disciples

to the bread that they ate at the Last Supper as “his body” and the wine as “his blood.” This would serve as the basis for the Christian celebration of Holy Communion, which remains a vital component of the faith and religious services.

Easter is a significant date on the Christian calendar that inspires Christians across the globe to celebrate their faith.
