harles E. Schwarting Elementary School in the Plainedge School District recently held its annual school-wide Spelling Bee. Fourth- and fifth-grade students prepared by conducting classroom Bees. Out of the 14 students who took on the challenge, fourth-grader Lauren Macaluso from Brooke Myers’ class took the top prize. This year’s runner-up was fifth-grader Jake Scarry from JoAnne Bono’s class.
