Brethren, We have some big things happening in May. To start, our stated meeting is May 6. On May 13 we have our third Master Mason Degree for the year. If anyone would like a part please tell our Senior Warden Miguel or myself and we will try to fit you in. The Helldorado Parade is on May 17th and I want to see some participation. It is a good time to show off the Lodge and Masonry in general and we need as many participants as possible to be in this parade. We will be having our family picnic on May 18th. This year we will be having stuffed hamburgers and hotdogs. There will be games for the kids and if you would like to help with these games let me know. We could use some prizes for the kids as well. We need to get an idea of how many will be at the picnic so we will have enough food so please let me know. On May 20 we will be having an E/A degree. Lets welcome these new brothers to the Lodge let them know that they are part of our Masonic family . On May 27 another Master Mason Degree and again, if anyone would like a part please let us know. Tickets are on sale for Nellis’ Baseball Night, June 19 and August 23. June 19 is $1.00 beer night and August 23 is Jersey night for the first 2500. This is a great night to bring the whole family and friends. If you need any information or have questions, please let me know. I would like to wish a Happy Birthday to all my brothers who are celebrating their birthday in May. I would appreciate any feedback you may have that would improve our Lodge and make it the best in Nevada.

Brethren, Please be aware that there is a proposed amendment to the bylaws presented in this Trestleboard that we will be voting on at the June Stated meeting. This is in accordance with Nevada Masonic Code Section 4.260 § 5 & Section 10.220.

As I mentioned last month I am going to ask for your assistance in locating some brothers. If any of you can assist me please contact the office with your information. 1. Fundraisers are going well but your help is still desperately needed and requested! The Display Case items are on there way and baseball tickets are available, so get out your pocketbooks! Baseball nights are scheduled as, Jun.19th & Aug. 23rd! Recruiting for the Fireworks booth has begun! Please sign up thru me asap so I can schedule accordingly. We also have a lot of FUN events coming up like the Picnic and the Helldorado Parade and Table Lodge. Do not miss out on these Great opportunities for Fellowship!

Pythagoras of Samos was a Greek mathematician and philosopher. He lived between 570 BC and 495 BC. Pythagoras did not leave writings of his own but what is known about him was handed down by his followers. This ancient Greek is particularly important to Masonry because of his immense contribution to mankind. It is known he was one of the first men to consider women equal. He utilized mathematics for many applications outside of commerce, a practice unheard of in his time. Mostly Masons have elevated this man among men because of his discovery of the 47th Problem of Euclid (illustrated below).

Fraternally, SW. Miguel

Pythagoras discovered the 47th Problem of Euclid is, in effect, the root of all geometry, the foundation of mathematics. It allows bridges, roads, and architecture to be built in a manner that allows the various parts to meet perfectly in the middle.

Thanks for your assistance Fraternally Jim Greely, PM Secretary

Pythagoras wasn’t just a builder. He helped build humanity in a way for all future generations of mankind to learn by his example. Pythagoras is why Masonry holds the Square in such high esteem. But don’t take my word for it; discover these truths for yourself! By The Plumb, Dennis
