Among the many definitions about organizational culture: How we interact with each other in the

organization we are employed to A set of understandings or meanings shared by a group of people


Among the many definitions about organizational culture: Meanings – in any organization a number of

micro‐cultures or subcultures exist since different people interact in a different way with each other. à That existing with each other should however be

covered by an overall cultural blanket safeguarding that this interacting follows the core values set by top management

similarities and differences and act on relevant organizational strategies

Teaching Methodology: Lectures on different topics Learning from each other . . . You are all different

people but having one thing in common, specifically to work in projects. Many experiences to share . . . (create synergy) . . . Networking opportunities. Learning from practitioners from the field Practical skills training (learning from practice, doing exercises, working on cases and action plans – lessons learnt) Work visits to different organizations and companies involved in projects Final Presentations


Group Organization and Practical Issues Class representative à Responsible for attendance list à First contact point concerning the group

Classes from 8:00‐10:00 AM Changes will be informed through website

Assignments and Gradings: 20% for your overall participation throughout the

course 50% for the group assignments à 30% for the case in action à 20% for the other cases throughout the course

30% for your individual back to office action plan

with a distinction between à Content (15%) à Presentation (15%) of your plan


Expectations: – Active student participation and involvement, work in groups and individually – Be punctual and present during whole course! – Be critical to yourself, the course, this is a learning experience! – Open minds, open for new issues, give constructive feedback and ask questions – Network and learn in and outside the classroom
