County Extension Agents for 4-H Youth Development Danielle Hagler danielle.hagler@uky.edu 317 South Third Street Bardstown, KY 40004 502-348-9204
The Nelson County 4-H Advisory Council is comprised of volunteers from diverse backgrounds from across our community. This dedicated group of individuals assist the Cooperative Extension Agent for 4-HYouth Development in determining the program goals and supporting those goals through fundraising and recruitment efforts. Nelson County 4-H is
truly grateful for the time and efforts of this group. Through monthly advisory meetings, special events and service on additional Extension committees, this group donates2-3 hours each month and some over 100 hours a year! The group helps set the program direction by providing input for the 4 year Plan of Work, and reviews budgets and treasurers reports to ensure financial accountability of funds.
WE NEED YOU! The 4-H is seeking additional members who have an interest in youth development programs who have about 3 hours a month to dedicate to 4-H. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at the Nelson County Cooperative Extension office and last about an hour and a half. Please consider donating your time and leadership to Making the Best Better!
4-H Winter Weather Notice The winter season is upon us and as we all know, winter usually brings snow. The Nelson County 4-H Club weather policy is as follows: “If Nelson County Schools are canceled due to bad weather or for any reason, all 4-H meetings and activities are automatically canceled. In addition, if there is a threat for bad weather before a meeting, call the Extension Office at 502-348-9204 for information regarding the meeting or event and any cancellation.

In January, after the business meeting, the club learned about the different
disciplines available to them, while also learning about gun safety and maintenance. The club is planning for shooting sports camp and recruiting current volunteers to attend the spring certification training.
