Southern Region Teen Leadership Conference

Nelson County 4-H Summer Camp Dates for 2017 are June 19th23rd! Mark Your Calendars and SAVE THE DATES!

Around 400 4-Hers from across the Southern Region met at the Clyde York 4-H Center in Crossville, Tennessee for the Southern Region Teen Leadership Conference. States represented at the event were Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina. Teens took workshops on topics from Leadership in the Bluegrass, to Swing Dancing, to Snap Circuits, and many others. 4-Hers participated in several service projects including raising money for those affected by flooding in Louisiana, and a Walmart run to buy supplies for children in foster

care. Teens also stopped by the Cumberland County Playhouse to watch a performance of The Secret Garden. Brandon Darby

Nelson County “Gears” Up for 4-H Week and NYSD For a lot of our youth in Nelson County , the beginning of October means fall break. For our 4-Hers in Nelson County, it means jam packed fun and hands-on activities! Nelson County 4-H is gearing up for National 4-H Week. This week will include dates from October 3rd—7th. We will recognize the hard work of our volunteers with the appreciation luncheon, and have many day camps from First Aid to Drones. Speaking of Drones…….

The month of October will also play host to National Youth Science Day. This year, the project is all about DRONES!
