C PROFILE

I have worn many hats in my time - printer, binder, designer, artworker, architectural assistant and illustrator. Having immersed myself in different industries, I am confident with taking on different roles and managing multi-disciplinary projects.

As an architecture graduate from Central Saint Martins, I went on to explore my ability as a young designer by taking on local freelance projects; working for small restaurants, primary schools and individual businesses.

I paint occasionally, I draw quite often and I am always fixed to my computer working on something creative. I take pleasure in bringing out the creativity in people through designs that reflect their imagination and ideals.

PERSONAL BRANDING The simple design of the logo carries out the two fundamental qualities of personal branding; an identity that can instill a firm impression on someone whilst giving them a bit of information about the brand and what they are like. The logo combines all the lettering of my full name and is arranged in a 3 x 3 grid structure, much like the game Sudoku. This appearance is intended to induce a playful quality in reflection to the type of designer I want to be. The close adaption to the game Sudoku makes the logo appear more friendly and familiar.

LAB, SEVILLE

During my internship at LAB, I was entrusted with the task of designing an icon pack that is going to be implemented on their website and other printed materials. LAB is a co-working practice that invites many different artists and illustrators across Seville to use their studio and provide talks and workshop sessions to those who want to practice a new skill. LAB needed a new set of icons to represent the different activities. The iconography is minimal in design using simple vector lines to create something that is recognisable.

LAB, SEVILLE

‘GLITCH’ is a joint project between Lab and La Galería Roja which explores the theme of ‘gamification’ - a sector that has in recent years experienced a spectacular development. The exhibition looks at the prominence of illustration in the video gaming industry. The exhibition invited more than 30 national illustrators of different generations from Spain to present their stance in the matter. I was entrusted with the concept and design of the brand identity of the exhibition. The retro appearance of the brand compliments with the sudden distortion of each individual letters to create a typography that represents the overall theme of the project.

M FOOD MENU

The client specifically wanted a menu that was different to other local restaurants. The design of the menu had to reflect the quality and style of the food. I decided that we should play with the way people interact with the menus because they are often the first tangible object a customer would experience; therefore one of the best opportunities to leave a good impression. So I decided to create a menu where you had to flip over each page vertically. This is so that cutomers will be more inclined to venture through each category of the food menu rather than resorting to their typical dish.

DRINKS MENU

The bi-fold design of the drinks menu divides the two categories: Non-Alcoholic and Alcoholic beverages. The soft drinks are presented at the front of the menu because it is often the go-to section throughout the course of the day and the alcholic drinks are revealed inside. Again, the same use of colours are prevalent throughout the design to create a coherent relationship.

EDITORIAL

For my third year final dissertation, we were told we could present our exploration in any format that we believe is suited to the topic of our dissertation. My dissertation covers the topic of ‘density through connectivity’ and I decided that each page should have a fluid flow and the information should flood through when required.

INFOGRAPHIC

In groups of 8, we were entered into a student competition by our university to come up with a design for the future of student housing. I was responsible for all the graphic materials and the layouts of the final presentation boards. Our concept was to alter societal’s negative impression of ‘procrastination’ and we decided that it was important to present the statistics of procrastination in the form of an infographic.
