C’mon Mako wednesday 17 october 2018
“Go the Mako! Kia kaha for the big semi-final clash. You’re fabulous ambassadors for Te Tau Ihu and we’re all incredibly proud of you!” Rachel Reese, Mayor of Nelson.
“Best of the luck to the boys! Makes us proud.” Anton Segner, Nelson College 1st XV captain.
“When opportunity knocks on the door, always be willing to take the challenge, because you’ll never know great you can be! Fins up!” Billy Guyton, retired Mako.
“Good luck lads, go hard!” Lucy Mahuika, Nelson Bays U48kg captain. “Another year in the semi-finals is simply a splendid effort and I feel this is our year. Fins Up and see you at Shark Park Friday.” Kenn Butler, number one fan. “Not this time. Not at our home.” That’s the rallying cry from Nelsonians ahead of this Friday night’s massive Mitre 10 Cup semi final at Trafalgar Park. For the past two Mitre 10 Cup seasons
Canterbury has broken Tasman hearts in the final of the country’s top provincial rugby championship. This year the two teams will meet again at a knockout stage, but one thing is very different – the venue.
Tasman Rugby Union marketing manager Les Edwards says he’s hoping for a crowd to give “the team the support they deserve”. “The weather is fine with light winds so there is no reason for people to stay
home and watch it on the telly.” This is the fifth year in a row that the Mako has qualified for a premiership semi final. Tickets are on sale at iSite, Richmond Mall, any NBS branch or at http://tickets.makos.co.nz/event For more information see pages 30-31.
