Nemacolin looks forward to helping your group plan an unforgettable team-building experience. If it’s your desire to build comradery, find laughter, foster a team spirit, include everyone’s voice, or pursue goals under pressure, Nemacolin has the team-building activities for your group.
From ropes courses to water games and puzzle perfection, from digital scavenger hunts and displays of artistic talent to off-roading and outdoor hiking events, we can help you find the perfect combination to help your team get outside the box, challenge themselves, and achieve goals together. From hour-long experiences to all-day packages, our Sales and Activities Departments can work with your planner to design a top-notch team-building experience which will provide growth opportunities for your board meeting, corporate retreat, group outing, or get-together.
Within this document, you’ll find activities, initiatives, challenges, and pursuits that your team will never forget. Peruse the packages, games, and activities, then contact peak.groupactivities@nemacolin.com, and we will assist in curating the perfect experience for your event.
The scenario for this event is as follows: while traveling, your plane crashes near a lake in the middle of nowhere. The nearest civilization is hundreds of miles away. You have no cell phone service, and food is limited. A handful of items have been salvaged from the wreck but have been scattered throughout the area. There are only a few items your group has so be careful not to lose them or leave them behind.
Teams will need to decide which supplies are most necessary to take with them. The teams will not know the challenge until after the items have been selected. During the challenge, if you find that you need something you don’t have, you are able to use anything that is NOT man-made. The team with the most points at the end wins the Survivor Series.

All but one member of the team is blindfolded. The seeing member must guide their team through the labyrinth tilt table to complete the challenge.

With limited supplies, your team will be challenged to safely remove the bomb from one location to another. You will need to be creative with your supplies to make sure the bomb does not explode!
The task sounds simple enough: move a ball from point A to point B using a ring with strings attached to it. Each team member must hold a string and guide the ball through a series of obstacles without dropping it, finally reaching the goal, and placing it back on its rightful pedestal. This activity stresses communication, the importance of the details, and doing tasks right, rather than just doing them quickly.
Talk about working together! Your whole team steps up to giant skis and grab handles. The challenge is to walk in unison through our obstacle course in the fastest time possible. You’ll have to work together to identify and solve issues along the way to speed up your pace toward the goal! Teamwork, communication, and efficient processes are stressed in this fun and fast-paced activity.
The group will take turns climbing roughly eight feet up our vertical climbing wall to a paragraph that will be taped to the wall. One at a time, your group members will climb up and attempt to remember as much of the paragraph as possible before descending back to the ground to write down all that they remembered. Be careful to remember everything from capital letters to punctuation!
GIANT PUZZLE
Two members of the team are blindfolded while the rest of the group instructs them on putting the giant puzzle together. It’s not as easy as it sounds! Blindfolded participants are the only ones allowed to touch the puzzle pieces.
MAGIC CARPET
Your team will be on a magic carpet ride. Unfortunately, the instructions on how to steer and land the carpet are on the other side of the carpet. As a team, you must flip the carpet over while still standing on it.
MINESWEEPER
This is a game of memory and non-verbal communication. As a team, you must find the code to pass through a grid of squares. If you step in a square that is not the order of the code, you must go to the end of the team’s line. Once this game begins, team members can only use non-verbal communication. Once the entire team has passed through the grid using the correct code, the challenge is complete.
THE PIPELINE
Stressing the importance of answering the needs of your customer and being able to change with trends in the marketplace is the focal point of this challenge. The simple act of transporting precious cargo from point A to point B becomes challenging when our team throws in some curveballs and new rules in the middle of the game.
SNAKE
This is a non-verbal game of teamwork! Your team will line up single file with everyone blindfolded except the person in the back. Each person will hold the shoulders of the person in front of them. As a team, you must weave around a room and collect objects, placing them in a bucket while using only non-verbal commands. Each member can only collect one item.
TALLEST TOWER
Using any 10 (or 20 or 30 pieces) create the tallest tower possible, with only three points of contact with the floor.
WATER TUBES
Working as a team, your group will retrieve an object from deep within a vertical PVC tube, using limited resources. Can you work together as one to retrieve the object?
WORDLES
Wordles are mental challenges. They provide an interesting and enjoyable series of unique word puzzles which serve as a basis for lively group discussion.
ISLANDS
The team is challenged to maneuver across a set of three islands that are eight feet apart using only two five-foot planks, without touching the ground. The team sets their own goals, decides the consequence of failure, and works together to succeed in this event. Closeness, communication, problem-solving, and cooperation are stressed.
PVC RESCUE LADDER
Test your strength and communication skills as team members work together to construct a rescue ladder able to carry one team member from point A to point B.
SPIDER’S WEB
Once again, teamwork and creative thinking are a must in this challenge. Faced with a giant (5 ft. tall) spider’s web, your team must cross through the web without touching it, while using each opening only once. With a little guidance from our team leader, your team will be challenged to encourage, support, and assist one another through the spider’s web.
TEEPEE SHUFFLE
Standing on a log, team members must rearrange the order of their group by birth date without communicating verbally with one another. This gets the group comfortable with each other while working on communicating non-verbally.
THE WHALE WATCH
The challenge is simple. Your entire team must all be on the Whale Watch platform balancing on a fulcrum. It sounds easier than it actually is, and it focuses on communication, points to the importance of balance in a team, and can reveal the power of one person within an organization.

DEFINITIONS
You have just taken a job at a dictionary company. You are responsible for editing a new edition. The only problem is that some of the computers went on the fritz and wiped out various definitions. You have decided to “wing it” and make up definitions for the words of which you don’t know the meaning.
FEARS IN A HAT
A good way to relate to a new group of people. Everyone puts their fear on a piece of paper in a hat. Once everyone has done so, each person picks a new fear out of the hat. Each person will share the new fear they have and relate.
An icebreaker / action-oriented game good for medium and large-sized groups. Similar to a game of rock, paper, scissors, two teams face off and decide to become either “giants,” “wizards,” or “elves.” Giants defeat elves, elves defeat wizards, and wizards defeat giants.
A good icebreaker or team-building activity for new people to learn to work together — in close physical proximity! The goal is to figure out how to untangle the human knot without letting go of hands.
You and your team have just found a lamp. You rub it and surprise! A genie appears. The genie grants you three wishes. You are allowed to make three changes at work. For example, you may want to change what’s for lunch, how meetings are run, who gets to park closest to the building, etc..
FOR THE TRUTH
You and the other “runners” in the room are about to embark on a race for the truth. Your goal is to cross the finish line as quickly as possible by truthfully answering questions about yourself as you follow the facilitator’s directions.
SORTS AND MINGLE
This icebreaker gets the group to move towards various parts of the room and to find others with shared interests and preferences, based on various interesting categories.
SPAGHETTI & MARSHMALLOWS
Working as a team, your challenge will be to build the tallest structure using only marshmallows and spaghetti.
STRANDED ON AN ISLAND
A team-building activity that asks people to identify what object they would bring if they were to be stranded on a deserted island. Each person discusses why they brought the object. Within groups, people decide how to improve their chances of survival by combining various objects.
An icebreaker / stationary game in which a person acts out an action only for the next person in line, who in turn acts out for the next person. The acting typically becomes distorted over time and hilarious, as the last person in line tries to guess what the original clue was.
A team-building activity centered on trust. A leader gives verbal or nonverbal instructions to navigate a blindfolded partner to avoid obstacles.
Your family (group) just inherited a successful restaurant from Chef Charlie, a long-lost relative. The only problem: Charlie was very disorganized. The only recipes you have found are on torn strips of paper. You have to make sense of it all and quickly! The restaurant is opening tonight, and you must have the food ready.
The group could be split into teams, depending on the size. Each team has a flip chart. A member from one team is given a phrase, idiom, thing, etc., to draw. If the other team members guess what the drawing is in the allotted amount of time, they win the point. If the team doesn’t guess correctly, the card then gets passed to the other team’s drawing participant who needs to have their team guess the answer before the other team.
Teams must work together carrying a tarp with a ball on it from point A to point B. The challenge is that the tarp has holes all through it and the goal is for the ball to not drop through one of the holes. Once you get to point B, the ball must roll through one of the holes and drop into a bucket.
Bring your entire group to one of the most unique events at Nemacolin! Once teams are determined, we will provide you with the supplies, including duct tape, 4x8 sheets of cardboard, and garbage bags. The ultimate goal is to build a boat and paddle that will transport one of your team members across our family pool in a race for the quickest time. You will be amazed at how many boats make it! This is a hilarious event that brings out the creativity in everyone! Alternatively, enjoy building a sled in the winter!

This game utilizes eight automatic traps with five shooting locations. Each location features one single clay and two pairs. Shooters in a squad of five move from station to station and shoot a predetermined menu of shots and combinations.
This game utilizes two automatic traps, one of which will be a bunny machine bouncing along the ground while the other is a standard clay being thrown like a bird, hence the name “Fur and Feather” for the rabbit and the bird. A group can choose any number of targets to shoot at this event.
Using two traps, the targets are launched and fly in all directions away from the trap house. Two shells are loaded in each shotgun, and a rail holding 10 shotgun shells is set in front of each shooter to make reloading quicker. Targets (24 total) are launched at 1.5-second intervals. Shooter number one takes the first two, shooter number two the next two, and so on. A perfect score would be a 24.
Wobble Trap is a new and exciting shotgun sport. Five shooting stations are provided, and each shooter is given five shots from each station. The trap is located underneath the third, or center, station. It is stationary but oscillates on both horizontal and vertical axes, hence the name “Wobble.”
The shooter calls for the clay to be thrown, and it comes from a trap at any angle. After five shots from five stations, the game is over. A perfect score would be 25.
