Across a variety of briefs, create conceptual work through the use of visual metaphors. An body of work that explores the link between static and moving imagemaking skills. Themes / Subjects Editorial - current affairs/ opinion pieces Animation - making gifs and short animation - for example, Lifting Tower and Bumble briefs

Brief 1: Editorials
Deadline
17/5/18
Rationale: For the editorial images - I want to make a collection of strong imagery that has a considered use of visual metaphors - something that I would like to improve upon in my work. For some of the pieces, I will have a short time frame and treat it as if it was a real commission, aiming to get quicker at making work for these type of briefs which, in the real world, would have a very quick turnaround. Brief 2: Penguin Book Cover Design
Deadline
6/3/18
Rationale: I want to explore making work across a range of formats, and as I didn’t enter it last year, I want to see how my work can be applied to different products. I’m unsure about entering for different covers as I’m not sure what the publications are yet, but I definitely want to make at least one entry for this. Brief 3: YCN Bumble
Deadline
22/3/18
Rationale: I want make a cohesive body of work for this and really be challenged to make work within the restrictions of the brand guidelines. Extending this project into short animations is also a way to really push my practice into motion graphics. Brief 4: Lifting Tower
Deadline
1/12/17
Rationale: Testing skills in the short gif-style animations and preparing work for that is presented to the public through large-scale projection. Brief 5: Roomzzz
Deadline
27/10/18
Rationale: A short turnaround brief, to see my work across different applications - in this case, a mural each for two new hotels.
