SKILL FOR LIFE

“On 16th December 2022 Friday, Pioneering and Gadgets competition was organized by the YESS Alumnae Miss Rosy Tamang, Miss Subista Dhwoju and Miss Puranjani Duwal under “Back to my Root Campaign” in Nepal Scouts National Headquarter, Lainchaur. The competition feature 11 groups with 5 members in each group from various crews from Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur district. This program was successfully conducted with the propose of setting up library in national headquarter of Nepal Scout under the project of“”Sustainable Public Library””.

Back to my Root Campaign is run by YESS Alumnae after they returned back from host country. The program is a part of the YESS Girls Movement Programme of WAGGGS as a contribution for their home country and member organization.

In the competition, 1st place was secured by National Open Scouts Crew followed by Pratibimba Open Scout Crew and Kageshwori Open Scouts Crewon2ndand3rdplacerespectively. We would like to congratulate all the other crews and their members for their active participation and valuable contribution.”

YESS at Gandaki Province

"On 5th November 2022, Miss Saru Gosai, YESS Country Coordinator and Miss Nita Tamang, Team Leader of Wheels of Change conducted a session on MHM and other different WAGGGS Initiatives to Rover/Rangers of Nawa Milan Scout Crew of Gandaki Province. They discussed about Menstrual myths and taboos which exist in their community. Likewise, they shared the knowledge on the sanitary products and discussed on how we can maintain the hygiene during our periods. We are very grateful towards the presence of Province Officer, Mr. Bijay Paudel and we are thankful to all the entire participants who attended the session. Besides these, Ms. Sisam Pariyar and Puja Sharma, National Task Force Members 2022 had also conducted different activities and session based on our results framework areas. They had trained girls and young women on MHM, Public Speaking, STEM, Advocacy, delivery of different activity pack etc."

YESS at Madhesh Province

"On 4th November 2022, Miss Saru Gosai, YESS Country Coordinator, Miss Nita Tamang, Team Leader of Wheels of Change and Ms. Roji Tamang, Team Leader of YESS Alumnae visited two different schools of Madhesh province. During the visit, they took a session on MHM and other different WAGGGS Initiatives in Shree Mahadev Janata Namuna Secondary School and Chaturbhujheswor Secondary School. We are very grateful towards the presence of Province Officer, Ms. Ranjita Yadav and the Local Committee Coordinator and Members as well. Ms. Pratishtha Subedi, National Task Force Member 2022 had been actively doing various activities related to our results framework areas. Different WAGGGS Initiatives had been delivered by her in local and provincial level."

YESS at Koshi Province

"On 3rd November 2022, Team Wheels of Change, team leader Ms. Nita Tamang and task force member Ms. Nabina Mangrati did a session on MHM at Damak, Province 1. They discussed about Menstrual myths and taboos which exist in their community. Likewise, they shared the knowledge on the sanitary products and discussed on how we can maintain the hygiene during our periods. Similarly, Ms. Saru Gosai, YESS Country Coordinator, talked about the WAGGGS and its initiatives and the opportunities and platform girls and young women can get through Scouting. The program was done under the presence of Damak Municipality, Local Coordinator, Mr. Om Prasad Acharya and Province 1 Coordinator, Mr. Ravi Khanal. The program was host by Province Officer Mr. Navaraj Ghimire. The entire team was very thankful towards Province Office, Himalayan Rover/Ranger Crew and all the Scouts who joined our session. Likewise, Ms. Nabina had also took various session and activities on our results framework areas such as MHM, STEM Session, WAGGGS Initiatives, Advocacy training, career bridger etc. She also did FM programs based on menstural taboos as well."

YESS at Sudurpaschim Province

One of our YESS National Task Force Members 2022 from Sudurpaschim Province, Ms.Sharmila Manyal conducted covid19 awareness and mask distribution campaign to the locals in collaboration with her Municipality and Sudurpaschim Province Scout Office which is located at Far-west Nepal. Ms.Sharmila Manyal conducted menstrual hygiene awareness campaign and also distributed sanitary napkins to the local girls and women.she also talked about the significance of clean drinking water and also raised awareness on the Dengue.

YESS at Bagmati Province

"The task force members from bagmati province had conducted various programs and activities based on the results framework areas. They did advocacy training, STEM Session, MHM awareness programs etc. Similarly, they also took session on Manaslu Kids Camp and in different schools of Kathmandu Valley and also in Chitwan as well. Likewise, they had also delivered different activity pack like welcome to my world, covid crushers activity pack, IDG, 16 days of Activism, Youth Day etc."

YESS at Karnali Province

Our taskforce members Miss Janaki Bista and Miss Yogmaya from karnali province had conducted MHM session in various schools of karnali province. They took a session on MHM, welcome to my world activity pack and delivered other WAGGGS Initiatives in their local level.
