Panel Discussion on Gender Based Violence

"On 10th June, Friday, YESS 2022 conducted a Panel Discussion On Gender Based Violence under the activity of Yes! Girls Can Campaign. The theme for the campaign is ""Yes! Girls can empower the child and young girls on different social issues."" We had five panelists for this event who are working in different fields. They were:

Ms. Prerana Shakya, WAGGGS Global Programmes Manager (Surf Smart)

Ms. Maleena Maharjan, Psychologist

Ms. Anu Lama, Incharge, WCSC, Metropolitian Police Office discussed about the Ms. Sarita K.C., LGBTIQ, Mitini Nepal

Mr. Arun Tamang, Legal Associate, Judicial Research Advocacy and Litigation Centre (JuRAL

The panelists talked about the GBV, its forms, consequences and so on. Likewise, the Legal Associate talked about the Legal Provisions regarding GBV whereas Inspector talked about the Police Specialized Services Areas of Work including the data of present context. Altogether, there were 50 participants and it was very interactive and fruitful session. Not only this, Mrs. Prerana also talked about the VAV Curriculum and about the way of Advocacy. We trained the participants regarding on the advocacy."
