THE BEST OF BRANSON
One of the greatest rock jam sessions of all time The Welk Resort Theatre is proud to present in it’s fifth season, MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, based on the Tony Award winning Broadway musical, inspired by the electrifying true story of the famed recording session where Sam Phillips, the “Father of Rock ‘n’ Roll” brought together icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins for one unforgettable night. On December 4, 1956, a twist of fate brought together the four, future rock ‘n’ roll legends. The place was Sun Records’ storefront studio in Memphis. The man who made it happen was Sam Phillips, the owner of Sun Records who discovered them all. The four legends-to-be united for the only time in their careers for an impromptu recording that has come to be known as one of the greatest rock jam sessions of all time. Featuring a treasure trove of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll, gospel, R&B and country hits from these music legends, including “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Fever,” “Sixteen Tons,” “Who Do You Love?,” “Great Balls of Fire,” “Ghost Riders,” and “Whole Lotta’ Shakin’ Goin’ On,” Million Dollar Quartet captures the infectious spirit and thrilling sounds of a singular moment when four of the music industry’s most extraordinary talents, all in their creative prime, came together for one of the most memorable nights in music history. Million Dollar Quartet runs through December 5th at Welk Resort Theatre. Visit their website at www.MDQbranson.com.

Family Tradition at Dolly Parton’s Stampede When Dolly Parton created her Stampede Dinner Attraction, she envisioned a unique entertainment experience for families, combining a spectacular show with a delicious home-cooked meal. She wanted it to be “The Most Fun Place to Eat” anywhere – a place where memories are made that folks hold onto for a lifetime. The world-famous dinner attraction is celebrating 25 years in Branson with a show sure to remind guests why it’s long been a family favorite of visitors. This unique experience combines the talented Dolly Parton’s Stampede cast of performers that includes 32 magnificent horses, a stampeding herd of buffalo, a westward cattle drive of longhorn steer, along with hilarious racing pigs and an amazing celebration of the spirit of America. Guests will enjoy a unique interactive family experience during the main season through October 20. Christmas Transformation Christmas is about tradition and recapturing this magical time with family and friends. In this spirit, the world’s most visited dinner attraction is decking the halls and grooming the horses to celebrate this holiday season. Beginning October 24 through January 4, 2020 Christmas at Dolly Parton’s Stampede in Branson transforms into a beautiful holiday spectacle including a fullscale living Nativity, holiday decor, seasonal music, a Santa Claus sighting and a fabulous four-course holiday feast. Guests will be awed by the birth of Jesus portrayed in a living nativity with Mary, Joseph, the three wise men atop real camels, and shepherds leading donkeys and their flock of sheep. The true meaning of the season comes alive right before guests’ eyes. It’s the most special time of year for families, who continue to make Christmas at Dolly Parton’s Stampede part of their annual family tradition. Both the regular season Stampede and Christmas celebration include a four-course feast consisting of a whole rotisserie chicken, hickory-smoked barbecue pork loin, herb-basted potato, buttery corn on the cob, creamy vegetable soup, homemade biscuit and apple turnover for dessert. It’s a wild, wild world in Branson! If you love animals, no one should miss the opportunity to visit one of Branson’s favorite attractions, Branson’s Wild World. This indoor aquarium and zoo offers many fun experiences for its visitors. First, visit all the animal exhibits, including sharks, a sea turtle, stingrays, crocodiles, a pack of wolves, creepy crawlers, the lemurs, and lots of reptiles including a large collection of venomous snakes. Personalize your experience with some exciting animal interactions including feeding sharks, petting dingoes, feeling the nibble of the doctor fish, feeding the alligators, and touching the stingrays. This attraction also includes a large hands on area, with aquatic touch tanks and many reptiles you can touch and hold. New for 2019, visit Wild World’s latest attraction, “Living Dinosaurs”. This attraction features animals that date back to the prehistoric age. Peer into the underwater world of some of the oldest fish species alive. Take a family photo next to the huge T-Rex animation. The attraction also includes real dinosaur fossils of many of the animals on display. After you experience over 300 species of animals, enjoy the other amusement opportunities available at Branson’s Wild World. You can experience the XD 3-D theater, where you fight to survive the awesome 3D ride. Enjoy some healthy competition in the blacklight Pirate miniature golf course, complete with its own set of animals. Also, take five minutes and try to navigate the Curse of the Mummy escape game. There is a gift shop if you are interested in a souvenir. Birthday party packages, field trip deals, and group discounts are available.

Just look for the Great Ape of Branson towering over Highway 76, and get ready for some mammoth merriment. The world-famous Hollywood Wax Museum has brought its craft and celebration of celebrity to Branson, giving guests the unique opportunity to get up close and personal with their favorite movie and pop culture icons. When they invite you to “Come Play with the Stars,” they aren’t kidding. Visitors can walk right up to their favorite stars, try on props and costumes, and pose for fun photos. They’ll also be able to get to know the stars better through posted facts about their charities and side businesses, fluky details about their backgrounds, their likes and dislikes, and more. More opportunities to play include: • Castle of Chaos is like nothing else. Feel the excitement of a whole new reality! Choose from two amazing 5D adventures where you’ll be swept away to other lands for a nonstop, shoot-‘em-up adventure that’s fun for all ages. • At Shoot for the Stars Mini-Golf, you’ll take the 18 steps to becoming a Hollywood star while putting through palm trees, parties and paparazzi. Your wisecracking agent, Marty McBooster, guides you through the course with lots of fun photo ops along the way. • Hannah’s Maze of Mirrors takes you inside a modern fairy tale where you can be the hero.
