Well hello Festival goers...
Welcome back to the North West’s greatest Festival, Carnival of Colours... HOLD ON! Who said they hadn’t been before? WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG!!!!? Relax... Come join the coolest club in town with In Your Space. We are delighted to say that this year marks the seventh annual *drum roll* CARNIVAL OF COLOURS and with a packed programme of all things circusy, arty, foody and melodic, we know that this year’s programme is the busiest and boldest yet! The weekend long festival will see St. Columb’s Park transformed into a magical playground for all (to come and play). From the young to the old, the mild to the wild you can be sure there is something for you to enjoy. So what makes this year so good? Well, cheeky, lots of things actually! Not only have we introduced new zones we’ve been working tirelessly to create a splendorous space where casual festies can encounter some of the world’s greatest street acts, music and art! Who? You ask. You are nosey aren’t you! Introducing... The Lords of Strut, Jonathan Taylor, Dansko Gida, The Magilligans, Jonathan Kay, The Belfast Community Circus School and The North West Circus School to name a few!
These worldly winners in street theatre will be joined by some of In Your Space’s most loved characters including The Candie Girls, The Jumping Jesters, The Pyromancers and much more! Come make some art in our Crafty Barn, feed your bellies at the Festival Belly, relax in our Big Top, find street shows throughout the field, have all the fun at our mini Fair, treat your ears at our Bandstand... we could go on but we know you love a surprise so we reckon you just have to discover it all for yourself! So... plot and plan your weekend, bring some pounds in your pocket and be ready to have the greatest weekend on offer... honestly... You won’t want to leave! Thank you all for your support so far, now go forth and enjoy yourself. You deserve it! Nicky Harley – Festival Director Cath Mc Bride – Festival Manager

Meet Sean Tastic and Famous Seamus, Ireland’s answer to the question... what happens when you combine comedic theatrics, dance and acrobatics? These boys are obsessed with the celebrity lifestyle they don’t quite have and have returned to Carnival of Colours to continue fulfilling their dream. (Stardom, Sparkle and Spandex). With costume changes of Eurovision proportions and swagger, pomp and incompetence to boot, this is a show for all ages. Sometimes subtle, sometimes brash humour but always bright, tight and incredibly funny live entertainment! “A hilarious performance... funny and brilliantly choreographed” FIVE STARS (Three Weeks Edinburgh) See Timetable – Page 16 & 17

What mad game will he play next? From eating laughter, stepping on punch lines and communicating with birds. Johnathan Taylor – The Collector is the Carnival’s unexpected encounter. Transforming a field corner into a world of adventure, The Collector gives more than he takes. If you want surprise and delight then just show up with extra air for
loud laughter! There may be water balloons… Just saying… Oh and kiddie pools… And… And… Ohhhh… Just watch and soak it all in! “Inventive, funny and just plain loveable character that keeps you rivited to what’s going to happen next. 5 stars.” Bill Ferguson Director Shrewsbury and Ashbourne Festivals See Timetable – Page 16 & 17

While Frankie spent the winter knee deep in slurry, young Bobby has been on a youth exchange programme in Lapland where he has been learning all about how to catch and cook a Christmas tree. This year’s Festival sees the brothers on the comeback trail executing their pinpoint comedy with inch perfect juggling and measured manic manipulation! See Timetable – Page 16 & 17

Dansko Gida comes from a long, long line of idiots deep within the general Vorsland area. His Great Grandfather, Susan Gida, claims to have invented blinking, the Box Set and Ducks… areas which he has mastered through dedicated practice. Banished from his home city of the Kesh Republic for committing crimes against comedy, he is a clown like no other. Hold onto your jelly shoes for Dansko Gida is about to flick you in the eye balls with light entertainment, leaving your tear ducts streaming and your lungs screaming. This is one FOOL you will NEVER forget seeing!! Or Hearing!! Warning!!! Dansko Gida will cause premature laughter lines. Terms and conditions apply. “There was something extra original about this guy – it was like watching the Monty Python version of stand up comedy.” (5 STARS) – Fringe Guru

Marathon Road Restriction Details:
Other Facts That Will Change Your Life!
Please Note: Carnival of Colours will open at 2pm on Sunday to facilitate road restrictions which will be in place as a result of The Walled City Marathon. The Peace Bridge and restricted roads will reopen at approximately 2pm. Drivers are advised to avoid the Limavady road until 2pm.
The Word Circus comes from the Latin word meaning circle or ring! The word is over 2000 years old! (Looks well!)
The Walled City marathon will be taking over the streets on Sunday 1st June. Make sure you get out to cheer the guys on and then go Carny in the Park!!! Parking: Those attending the festival are advised to use Victoria Market Car Park, Foyle St. Car Park or The Old Waterside Health Centre Car Park on Glendermott Road. All these facilities are within a 5 minute walk from the site. Special Thanks:
Traditionally performers let you know their act is finished with a signature wink or hand gesture. We let you know by inviting you to donate to the festival with coins in the bucket. Dig deep and show us you care! A duck’s quack doesn’t echo, and no one knows why. It is impossible to lick your elbow. The average person laughs 10 times a day. The average Carnival of Colours goer starts laughing on entry to the festival and doesn’t stop. Symptoms usually disappear within 2 - 3 weeks. A beard is an area of hair growth on your face. Most beards are immune to sarcasm. Question from In Your Space team… Did you try and lick your elbow?
Louise Conaghan, Gwyneth Doherty and Michael Johnston – Festival Team at In Your Space. And all the businesses, volunteers and gorgeous people who work with us!

“The SS Nomadic is the only White Star Line ship left inthe world. It ferried passengers to Titanic in 1912...” Colin, Titanorak, Belfast
The best way to discover Northern Ireland’s many living legends is to chat to a local, just like Colin. Book a getaway to our compact little part of the world and go exploring. Head straight to Titanic Quarter and tour Titanic Belfast – the world’s largest Titanic visitor attraction – see Titanic’s little sister ship, the SS Nomadic, and then take in Titanic’s incredible dock, her last physical footprint in history. We’ve Titanic menus, Titanic beers and, if all that isn’t epic enough for your short break, the Giant’s Causeway is only an hour away...
