Ahoy me hearties! Welcome to the Belfast Titanic Maritime Festival 2017.

What a weekend we have in store for landlubbers and seafarers of all ages! You can expect plenty of exciting free family entertainment over three days, on our city’s quays, as well as the opportunity to learn more about the city’s rich maritime heritage.

Climb a’board some magnificent visiting ships, the Earl of Pembroke, Kaskelot, and the Phoenix. The Russian vessel Shtandart will grace our shores for the first time throughout the festival and the Royal Navy and Irish Naval Service will also stop in Belfast over the course of the weekend.

We’ll have plenty of activities for kids of all ages! There’ll be a variety of interactive maritime-themed arts and craft workshops, storytelling, dancing on the decks with Jump Jiggle and Jive, outdoor fun and games, pirate classes, face painting and sensory play for under five’s to name but a few! Or you can simply sit back and enjoy our live entertainment.

Spectacular live entertainment Enjoy the ‘crazy carry-ons’ of sea life with laugh out loud street theatre a plenty! Sit back, relax and listen to fantastic live music from local artists in our music marquee and don’t miss amazing live performances throughout the site.

This year, the Belfast Titanic Maritime Festival is one of three taking place in the Irish Sea. Along with Liverpool and Dublin, Belfast is hosting the fleet of ‘The Voyage’; a new sail training initiative where participants are guided by professional crew in operating a Tall Ship vessel. Some of the visiting vessels will host Belfast trainees sailing between the ports!

Q Radio roadshow Join Q Radio presenters Steve Turnbull, Gareth Stewart, Ibe Sesay, Owen and Yazz and the Q Street Team as they broadcast live from the festival, on the Q Bus, at Queen’s Quay. Make your way to the Q Radio marquee for live music, competitions and lots of giveaway fun for all the family.

The Wee Tram

There’ll be a free Maritime festival shuttlebus approximately every 15 minutes from 2pm – 7pm on Friday and 11am – 6pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Departing from SS Moore’s, Chichester Street, Belfast city centre, and dropping off at Station Street bus stop (beside Queen’s Quay).The return shuttle will pick up from Station Street bus stop and drop off at Donegall Square West (beside City Hall).

Explore Titanic Quarter on the Wee Tram. Hop on at the Arc and travel along Queen’s Road up to Titanic’s Dock and Pump House for special tours. The tram will also stop at Titanic Slipways, Titanic Belfast and the SS Nomadic Belfast on its return journey.

Belfast Bikes Pick up and drop off your Belfast Bikes at any of the city’s docking stations. For further details visit www.belfastbikes.co.uk Cyclists will be asked to dismount while on site.

Ulster Rugby Mini explorers sensory play 11am - 6pm, Saturday 17 – Sunday 18 June, Queen’s Quay Hunt for golden treasure, build sandcastles or take some quiet time to relax and read a book in our under-the-sea sensory dark den! Lots of sensory play activities for little babies and mini explorers aged up to five years.

IFA soccer village 11am – 6pm, Saturday 17 June, Queen’s Quay Just ahead of the UEFA Women’s U19 Championships this summer, why not visit the IFA’s soccer village to participate in an array of fun challenges and activities for all ages.You could be crowned cage football champion or speed shooter sensation. Come along for a fun-filled day with lots of free giveaways and prizes on offer.

Paddlesport try it sessions with Bryson LaganSports (£)

11am – 6pm, Sunday 18 June, Queen’s Quay With the Women’s Rugby World Cup taking place this summer, you’ll have a chance to put your own rugby skills to the test and see the Women’s Rugby World Cup Trophy!

Boat tours with the Lagan Boat Company (£) Sailing times: Friday 3pm, 4.30pm and 6pm. Saturday and Sunday 12pm, 1.30pm, 3pm, 4.30pm and 6pm. £5 per person, under 3’s free. Tours depart from Abercorn Basin.

Armed forces jobs and trades fair 11am – 6pm, Saturday 17 – Sunday 18 June, Titanic Slipways Army reserve units from across Northern Ireland will be displaying their signature kit and equipment, whilst providing an insight into what life is like in the regular army and army reserve. You’ll have a chance to chat to Navy, RAF and army career advisors about full time and part time opportunities.
