MYTHS MADE MODERN Over the course of six online sessions in October 2020, seven young illustrators came together to creatively explore the myths, legends and folklore that have influenced the modern history of the island of Ireland.

With storyteller Cormac Ó Briain and illustrator Shannon Patterson, they dove into a world of Cailleachs and Kings, putting a modern twist on ancient stories and fantastical figures. Each of them has created an illustrated page in response and we hope the work they have created in this book will inspire people to revisit the folklore and myths of old.

REIMAGINE, REMAKE, REPLAY Reimagine, Remake, Replay aims to connect young people and heritage through meaningful ways through creative media and the latest technologies whilst delving into museums collections in new ways.

The Reimagine, Remake, Replay programme is led by a consortium including Nerve Centre, National Museums NI, NI Museums Council and NI Screen, and is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund’s Kick the Dust programme. The project plans to engage more than 4,000 1625 year olds with museums and heritage through the use of creative media and the very latest cutting edge digital technologies.

In response to lockdown restrictions, the project has adapted its delivery, developing a range of new and innovative programmes that continue to engage young people and museum collections remotely. Find out more about the project at www.reimagineremakereplay.org.

UNDERSTANDING THE DECADE OF COMMEMORATIONS PROJECT The Understanding the Decade of Commemorations project was delivered by the Nerve Centre in partnership with the Tower Museum Derry-Londonderry.

The project is supported by the European Union’s PEACE IV Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB), match-funded by The Executive Office in Northern Ireland and the Department of Rural and Community Development in Ireland.
