NoCry2 Newsletter 2011 NoCry - knowledge and experience lives on NoCry project was completed in autumn 2010, but to exploit the knowledge and experience gained during the project, it was decided by some of the involved partners to continue their cooperation, however, in a new form and with new focus. With bated breath we wait: o) NoCry has not only been recognized locally and regionally, but also enjoyed great success internationally and in its project context was identified as a best example. The project is nominated for RegioStars Awards * 2011 in the category Anticipating Economic Change. The nomination was made by the NPP Secretariat under the justification that they believe the project was successful in its resolve to encourage and support entrepreneurship among creative young people in the northern periphery. In February 2011 the project was informed that there have been selected as a finalist among 66 applicants from 18 other countries. The winner will be announced in Brussels on 23 June 2011 in conjunction with the conference ‘Regions for Economic Change’. * RegioStars Awards is a prestigious honor awarded by the European Commission in order to identify and highlight good examples of effective regional development policy, and to highlight original and innovative projects that could be attractive and inspiring to other regions.
NoCry was a project focusing on the individual entrepreneur and his or her development. NoCry2 is instead focused on promoting sectorborder cooperation, aiming to shape the creative cluster of young, niche entrepreneurs and companies. Clusters will be shaped by the target group's needs and it is hoped that by creating the conditions for cooperation to stimulate the emergence of new products and services. This would in turn result in enhanced product and / or service portfolios, thereby strengthening the competitiveness of entrepreneurs. Based on evaluation of results and on the needs expressed the NoCry2s audience will create an alternative model for business support for young entrepreneurs in the creative industries.
NoCry2 Newsletter 2011 Kickoff On 29-30 March, the official project kickoff of NoCry2 took place and a large number of participants from the partner regions attended the meeting. Also participating during the first day were representatives from Kramfors Growth Department and the Adult Education.

Since the project kickoff in March there has been intense days at the project office: A preliminary survey of the existing young entrepreneurs, their skills and needs, was initiated in all countries and regions, planning for future activities are held regularly with all concerned partners, the project site is under construction, and active work is underway to expand the already established network with potential future partners. Work will continue during the summer and we calculate to be running with the first activities during early autumn.
