Join Mr Hullabaloo for our week long summer theatre school for young people aged 5 - 11yrs as we proudly present A Beastly Tale. Based on the children’s classic story of Beauty and the Beast, young children will be invited to discover a world of enchantment where teacups dance and sing. Children will be treated to classes in acting, singing and dancing before performing live on stage for their family and friends at the end of the week.

Tickets: £275 Time: Various Age: 11-23 yrs Following the spectacular success of Phantom of the Opera, Theatre at The Mill is delighted to be staging a special Youth Theatre Production of Show Boat with the return of director Anna McNamara, and Music Director Conor Mitchell. This three-week workshop for talented young artists aged 11- 23 starts on Monday 17 July and runs through to Saturday 5 August 2017, with six fully staged performances. Show Boat’s Broadway Premiere in 1927 changed musical theatre forever and includes outstanding musical numbers from Jerome Kern with Lyrics and Book by Oscar Hammerstein including: Old Man River, Bill, Make Believe and Can’t Help Lovin Dat Man.

Unleash your inner author this summer with Marginal Arts creative writing course for children aged 8-12 yrs. Come along and create a new story with storyteller Vicky McFarland, from idea to print in just five days. Children will learn the skills of plotting, character and setting development, drafting, editing and redrafting before having their stories published and presenting them at an end of course book launch.

Following the success of Coppelia last year, directors Laura Walker and Jennifer Milligan create a fusion of ballet and jazz using the timeless tale of Mary Poppins as their theme. The workshop will allow dancers of all ages to build skills and confidence in movement whilst learning choreographed routines in both dance styles. There will be a performance for family and friends at the end of the week’s training. Dynamic, demanding and fun, some dance experience is required and auditions will be held for those dancers that have not taken exams or are unsure about whether this is the course for them. The decay of Rome reaches violent depths in Shakespeare’s most bloody play. Blanche McIntyre returns to the RSC to direct Shakespeare’s brutal revenge tragedy after her debut directing The Two Noble Kinsmen (2016). Titus is a ruler exhausted by war and loss, who relinquishes power but leaves Rome in disorder. Rape, cannibalism and severed body parts fill the moral void at the heart of this corrupt society.

Peggy Sawyer may be from a small town, but she has big dreams. Fresh off the bus in New York, the young, hard-working Peggy lands herself a spot in the chorus line of a new Broadway show. At first she is just one dancer among many, but when the show’s leading lady is injured it seems that Peggy may get her shot at the limelight after all. An American fable that never fails to sweep audiences off their feet, the JH Academy of Theatre Arts production of 42nd Street is a vivacious, technicolour masterpiece that features a cast of more than 50 performing favourites such as We’re In The Money, Lullaby Of Broadway, Shuffle Off To Buffalo, Dames, I Only Have Eyes For You and 42nd Street. Starring students of the JH Academy of Theatre Arts.

Donna Taggart – Jealous of The Angels Sat 23 Sept

The Omagh-born viral sensation began singing when she was 22. It started by accident when a friend asked her to sing at a funeral. She has been singing and recording songs ever since. Donna first came to prominence in 2011 when her acclaimed debut album Celtic Lady Vol. 1 was picked up by highly respected BBC Radio Ulster presenter Gerry Anderson. A second album followed in 2013 (Celtic Lady Vol.2). This led to TV appearances on Ireland West Music TV Christmas show alongside the cream of musical talent in Ireland including Nathan Carter. Donna’s debut concert tour in February led to sell out shows in Galway, Derry, Armagh, Omagh & 2 sold out nights in the Waterfront Studio, Belfast.

There and Back Again – An Odyssey Sat 17 June

Follow BBC CBeebies Patrick Lynch as he launches Ulysses and his companions on a fantastic 20 year long voyage to get back home. Miniature worlds come to life on our big screen as we create them out of sand, stones, fire and water. The use of multiple cameras magnifies our table-top puppetry down to the smallest detail and turns a storm-in-a-teacup into an Aegean tempest. We have adapted this epic narration to bring out the fundamental fable that everyone can follow – a thrilling ride across the magical world of ancient Greece to show you that no matter how far you roam, there’s no place like Homer.

Two interlocking monologues: Me Here, Me & Before Before by Jane Coyle. In the first, a young woman sits alone in a Paris cafe, watching the life of the street unfold. Everyone seems to have a story. Is hers about to be revealed? In the second, a middle-aged woman views the world from a bar in Nice, looking back on a turbulent life and a loss too painful to bear. The production of Both Sides is supported by National Lottery funding through the Arts Council of Northern Ireland’s Small Grants.

Owen O’Neill – Red Noise 23 September 2017

Owen O’Neill has toured the world with his one-man shows accumulating a string of awards including three Fringe Firsts at the Edinburgh Fringe. Red Noise is a hybrid of stand-up comedy, theatrical monologue and poetry which O’Neill blends to perfection. True stories from his life include being struck by lightening at nine years old and being told he had the cure for cancer. Being interrogated by an IRA man with a stammer (The longest two hours of his life). How his feature film debut with Liam Neeson went horribly wrong. Being brought up in a family of sixteen siblings and having to queue for breakfast. All this and more in his 90 minute show.

He would go on to star in over 100 films, all of which are inventive, graceful, and hilarious. As part of the global celebrations, composer and multiinstrumentalist, Colin Reid (The Third Policeman with Stephen Rea; Icarus) and foley artist, Reggie Chamberlain-King (BBC Radio Ulster, Radio 3, Radio 4) present a selection of Buster films with a playful new score for multiple instruments, zany sound effects, and audience participation. The acclaimed Derry-based songwriter Eilidh (pronounced ‘I-Lee’) Patterson is joined onstage by Cup O’Joe, rising stars of the bluegrass and roots scene in Northern Ireland. Eilidh has performed in the United States, the UK and in Europe, winning new audiences wherever she goes with her voice and songs. Cup O’Joe are BBC Young Folk Award nominees. Expect some ravishing songs with soul-stirring harmonies and picking.

He has shared the stage with artists as diverse as Jeff Beck, Imelda May, Snow Patrol, Jools Holland and many more. This concert offers a rare treat.

Formed and fronted by Newry-born brothers Brendan and Declan Murphy, they have developed a unique musical identity, which has produced original and award-winning recordings, as well as a large and loyal fan base. Sugar Island, their latest album, explores the brothers’ early years growing up in Northern Ireland; musically, it focuses on the trademark interplay of their acoustic guitars. This concert will see the brothers in an up-tempo acoustic setting.

(Concession) Group Discount Available Time: 8pm Recorded gun shots are used in this production This hilarious spoof is in the best Agatha Christie traditions, with an assembled cast of characters guaranteed to delight: Bunting the butler, an English Colonel with the prerequisite stiff upper lip, a shady French art dealer and his moll, a bumbling local inspector and a well-meaning local sleuth who seems to attract murder - they’re all here, and all caught up in the side-splitting antics which follow the mysterious death of the owner of a country manor house. But will the murderer be unmasked before everyone else has met their doom, or will audiences die laughing first? Amateur production by arrangement with Josef/Weinberger Plays Ltd.
