The MAGIC of following the prompts
Words KRISHNA EVERSON
I’ve never been very good at instructions or forms, especially the written variety. The fields are too small, the questions ambiguous, and they are usually way too long-winded! Online instructions can be just as challenging… do we click that box, swipe that arrow, or follow the link below? I think this is one of the reasons I have spent many of my years teaching others, with the aim to make it as simple as humanly possible, and I absolutely love the process of achieving this.

As individuals, we approach problems dependent on our own knowledge, perception, and beliefs; a combination of human instinct and biological processes, as well as family and societal patterns we have learnt growing up. We often look externally to find the answers to our problems and seek solutions to life’s challenges. On a daily basis we have the opportunity to navigate life’s journey and create our own destiny but often seek to control the process. I know I do! It gives us the perception of safety and security.
In recent months I have found myself letting go of the illusion of control, as many of us have had to do. It has meant having faith and being satisfied with ‘not knowing’. I have noticed that when I truly operate out of a place of trust, life can unfurl with ease during times of uncertainty. Even though I do not know what is going to happen, it has become more about the journey, not the destination. We get to choose our own adventure and it plays out on a daily basis. We can do this with fear and drama or can do this with curiosity and ease.
Each of us has an internal guidance system available to us, that when listened to, can be a powerful teacher and confidante. I recently read Mel Robbins’ book, ‘The 5 Second Rule’, an exercise in changing our life 5 seconds at a time. The premise is based on following the prompt as it arises… with a 5-second countdown to lift-off. It could be as simple as calling an old friend, or as scary as asking for a raise, or calling that potential client or job opportunity you have always dreamed about. The key is following the prompt, doing the 5-second countdown, and taking the action!
I’ve pretty much always danced to the beat of my own drum, but I have also let opportunities slide by out of fear and uncertainty and a desire to remain in my comfort zone.
As we stand on the precipice of change, now is the time to follow our inner GPS, act on the inner prompts and step into the path of our destiny. Who knows what magic we will discover along the way!
