LEANA DE BRUIN
Positions: GA, GS Height: 1.85m DOB: 6 May 1981 Caps: 31 Test Debut: 12 July 2003
Positions: GD, GK Height: 1.90m DOB: 9 July 1977 Caps: 66 NZ; 34 South Africa Test Debut: 26 February 2003
A former basketball national champion, Brown made her debut against Niue at the World Championships in Jamaica in 2003, where the Ferns won the world title. On the eve of the 2006 Commonwealth Games, Jodi suffered a devastating knee injury, but a year later, returned to play at the 2007 World Championships.
An energetic and rangy defender, de Bruin began her international netball career in South Africa where she earned 34 Test Caps. A move to New Zealand followed in 2000, along with selection in the Silver Ferns where she was a key part of the victorious 2003 World Champion making her on-court debut, and 2006 Commonwealth Games Silver Ferns teams.
The girl from Wanganui gained 28 Test Caps for New Zealand before stepping out of international netball in 2007 to start a family. Now a mother of two and a world champion, Brown has made a remarkable comeback to the Silver Ferns after a fiveyear absence. Her re-selection came after a strong performance for the Southern Steel in the 2012 ANZ Championship, playing her way back into the national team last year for the Constellation Cup and Quad Series. At the start of the 2013 international netball season Brown has claimed 31 Test Caps.

A gifted athlete, the 36 year old played most of the ANZ Championship season for the Magic in 2009 before taking the rest of the season off with the imminent arrival of her first child. She was part of the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic team which won the ANZ Championship title in 2012. Having earlier played for the Northern Mystics, de Bruin continues to make an impact as a respected defender. De Bruin has a total of 100 Test Caps with 34 for South Africa and 66 for New Zealand.

Positions: WD, GD Height: 1.83m DOB: 29 September 1982 Caps: 69 Test Debut: 5 July 2004
Katrina Grant started playing netball at the age of nine and has never looked back. Grant was named in the Silver Ferns team for the first time in August 2008 to play Australia in the New World International Netball Series. Since then she has formed a great defensive combination with Captain Casey Williams and was pivotal in the defeat of Australia in the Commonwealth Games final in 2010. Selector’s spotted Grant’s potential early in the peace. After winning the 2005 World Youth Championships with the NZU21 team, Grant progressed to NZA and was added to the Silver Ferns squad in March 2008 following good performances as a training camp invitee. She has 41 Test Caps for the Silver Ferns at the start of the 2013 International season.
Whanganui-born mid-courter Joline Henry has 69 Test Caps to her name and after a year out of the Silver Ferns squad due to pregnancy, has returned to the court in 2013 fitter and stronger than ever. Henry has been in the Silver Ferns for a decade. She missed out on the team for the 2006 Commonwealth Games but was selected for the 2007 Netball World Championships in Auckland. She was also included in the Silver Ferns side that won the inaugural World Netball Series in 2009 and the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi. For the past two years, 30-year-old Henry has played for the Central Pulse franchise in the ANZ Championship, and has re-signed for the 2014 season.
Katrina has recently re-signed for the Central Pulse in the 2014 ANZ Championship season where she is the Captain and plays in the defensive circle at either goal defence or goal keeper. 13

Casey Kopua (formerly Williams) was selected for the Silver Ferns squad in 2004, and was part of the NZU21 team which won the 2005 World Youth Championship and won gold with the Silver Ferns at the 2006 and 2010 Commonwealth Games. Kopua has been leading the Silver Ferns since July 2009 and she currently has 70 Test Caps playing for New Zealand. The most significant international championship win to date in which Williams was Captain, was the 2010 Commonwealth Games gold medal victory in Delhi. Playing in either the goal keep or goal defence position on court, Kopua is well known for her aerial intercepts and dogged determination. Her dedication to netball was recognised in 2011, named in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List as an Officer for the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to New Zealand netball. Kopua has spent the past six ANZ Championship seasons playing for the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic, and has re-signed for the 2014 season. 14

Dynamic mid-courter Laura Langman has gained a reputation as one of the finest ball carriers in the game. The 27 year old boasts an incredible record of taking to the court for every Silver Ferns match since her selection in 2005. Langman is the vice-captain of the Silver Ferns and after six years of ANZ Championship netball playing for the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic, has recently signed for the Northern Mystics for the 2014 season. Langman is nearing her 100th Test Cap for the national side, a milestone she is likely to reach in 2014. Her netball career started more than ten years ago when chosen for the NZU21 side at the age of 16. Just one year later, Langman made the Silver Ferns squad and won her first test cap against England in 2005 at the age of nineteen. That same year, she led New Zealand to a memorable win in the World Youth Championships and in 2006, was in the Silver Ferns team winning the Commonwealth Games gold medal.

TE HUINGA REO
SELBY-RICKIT Positions: GK, GD Height: 1.88m DOB: 3 April 1989 Caps: –
Auckland-born shooter Cathrine Latu is proving to be a valuable asset to the Silver Ferns and ANZ Championship side, the Northern Mystics.
Coming from a rich sporting heritage, Te Huinga Reo Selby-Rickit is carving a name for herself on her own merit with terrific defensive skills on the netball court.
Blessed with soft hands, nimble footwork and an eye for the gap, Latu has continued to add the polish to her abundant natural skills in the shooting circle. The former NZ Secondary Schools and NZU21 shooter has talent to burn.
Selby-Rickit – best known as Hu – is renowned for her sharp eye for spotting an intercept.
After choosing to play for Samoa at the 2007 Netball World Championships in Auckland, Latu then needed to complete a four-year stand-down to become eligible to play for the Silver Ferns. A stand-out performance in a composite World 7 team in 2009 pushed Cathrine Latu’s standing in netball to new heights. Inclusion in the Silver Ferns squad became a formality in September 2011, making her debut against England in October the same year.
The 2012 ANZ Championship season with the Central Pulse was a stand-out. Selby-Rickit partnered with fellow Silver Fern Katrina Grant to capture the most intercepts of any defensive duo in the competition. A Southlander through and through, SelbyRickit began her elite netball career with the Southern Steel in 2008. She spent six years in the NZU21 squad and played in the New Zealand side which won the FastNet World Series in Liverpool in 2010. A talented sportswoman, she has also played basketball for national age group sides. Not one to be underestimated, Selby-Rickit speaks fluent Maori, with design, art and accounting qualifications.

Positions: GA, WA, GS Height: 1.75m DOB: 18 June 1986 Caps: 11 Test Debut: 26 August 2009
Midcourt defensive player Courtney Tairi got her first taste of elite netball selected as a temporary replacement player in the NSW Swifts side in the ANZ Championship in 2009.
Twenty seven year old attacker Anna Thompson was named in the Silver Ferns squad in 2008 making made her debut in the 2nd Test of the World 7 Test Series on 26 August 2009. Most recently, Thompson played in the first leg of the 2012 Quad Series.
One year later, Tairi was officially named one of the twelve squad members for the same team, playing at either wing attack or centre positions. In 2011, Tairi cemented her place in the starting line-up for Swifts, later signing with New Zealand franchise Southern Steel in 2012 where she has been for the past two seasons. On the international netball scene, Tairi played for Australia at U21 level in 2009.
The Cantabrian is the only player in the FastNet Ferns to have represented New Zealand at all four World Netball Series tournaments, which includes the Fast5 Netball World Series in Auckland last year. Another of the younger contingent to make the step-up from the 2005 World Youth Netball Championship winning NZU21 team, Anna joined the Silver Ferns squad in 2008. During the six years of the ANZ Championship she has stayed loyal and played for the EasiYo Tactix as their only remaining foundation player, now leading the side as captain. She has re-signed to the Tactix for the 2014 season.

MARIA TUTAIA Positions: GA, GS Height: 1.88m DOB: 18 February 1987 Caps: 76 Test Debut: 13 November 2005 One of the most skilled long-range shooters in the world, Maria Tutaia is still thrilling audiences with her silky shooting style and deadly accuracy. Since her national debut for the NZ U21 team in 2004, Tutaia has cemented her spot in the goal attack position for the Silver Ferns, showing the poise and focus of a much older player. One year after her selection in the NZU21 side, the team went on to win the 2005 World Youth Championships. Tutaia made her on-court debut for the Silver Ferns during their tour of Jamaica just a few months later. In 2006, Tutaia was also a member of New Zealand’s gold medal-winning team at the Melbourne Commonwealth Games. After two seasons with ANZ Championship side Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic, Tutaia moved to Auckland where she is now captain of the Northern Mystics. Tutaia has 76 Test Caps for the Silver Ferns.
IRENE VAN DYK (MNZM)
Positions: GS, GA Height: 1.90m DOB: 21 June 1972 Caps: 139 NZ; 72 South Africa Test Debut: 20 June 2000 Iconic South-African born Kiwi Irene Van Dyk exceeds most superlatives as the most capped and recognised netball player in history. The 41 year old captained South Africa before making New Zealand home in 2000, and becoming a New Zealand citizen in 2005. Van Dyk joined the Silver Ferns squad on arrival into New Zealand and debuted that same year against Australia in Newcastle. Standing at 1.92m tall, goal shooter Caitlin Bassett is a formidable opponent, owning her space close to the net in the shooting circle. An easy target to find for her attacking mid-courters, Bassett has continued to improve with experience and now claims 27 Test Caps for Australia including being part of the 2011 World Championship winning team. The 25 year old has played ANZ Championship netball for the West Coast Fever since the competition’s inception in 2008 and was the fourth highest goal scorer in 2013.
Twenty-six year old Erin Bell was rewarded with her first selection in the Diamonds squad in 2010.

Her ability to play in the shooting circle and on the wing saw her earn a place in Australia’s 2011 World Championship team. She made her international run-on debut at the Championships in Singapore and continued to flourish during the Holden Netball Test Series. She has had another stellar year with the Thunderbirds in 2013, named in the goal attack position for the ANZ Championship All Star team and winning the ANZ Championship title. She is the only player to have won three ANZ Championship titles, in 2008 with the NSW Swifts and 2010/2013 with the Adelaide Thunderbirds.

Named in the ANZ Championship All Star Team in the wing attack position for the second year running, the 25 year old Vixens player made her international debut in 2010 on the Diamonds UK tour after being a squad member for since 2007, recording five Tests caps and one Player of the Match accolade.
Thirty-one year old defender Rebecca Bulley has now been part of the Australian Diamonds squad for ten years. The versatile and unassuming defender missed the cut for the 2011 World Championship team and was a replacement player during the Holden Netball Test Series, making the most of her opportunities to keep herself very much on the radar. 2013 saw Bulley line up for the Adelaide Thunderbirds in the ANZ Championship. She was also in the NSW Swifts team which won the inaugural title in 2008.
Browne has continued her superb form in the 2013 ANZ Championship with the Vixens leading the overall competition for goal assists and centre pass receives.

Identified at a young age for her netball potential, 25 year old defender Laura Geitz first made the Australian Squad in 2007. A tall, rangy athlete, Laura featured strongly in the 2013 ANZ Championship for deflections, rebounds and intercepts, and led her team Queensland Firebirds to the 2013 Grand Final. The tally of 35 Test Caps will grow steadily as Geitz continues to cement her spot in the Australian Diamonds defensive circle. She was part of the 2011 World Championship winning team and the 2011 ANZ Championship winning team, the Firebirds.

Mid-courter Kimberlee Green made her debut for the Diamonds in 2008, cementing her spot in the Diamonds 12 for her first World Championships in Singapore in 2011. A centre and wing attack specialist, the 27 year old plays her ANZ Championship netball for the NSW Swifts. One shy of 50 Test Caps for Australia, and with the retirement of fellow mid-courter Natalie Von Bertouch, Green is the experienced linchpin in the middle for the Diamonds. She was also a member of the 2008 ANZ Championship Swifts premiership team.
Mid-court defensive dynamo Renae Hallinan made her Test debut against the Silver Ferns in 2009 and was named International Player of the Year in her rookie season. Hallinan plays for the Adelaide Thunderbirds in the ANZ Championship and after initially missing out on Diamonds selection for the 2012 Constellation Cup against the Silver Ferns last year, was recalled to the Australian team as a replacement player. Hallinan was an integral part of the 2009 ANZ Championship Vixens premiership team and the 2013 ANZ Championship Thunderbirds premiership team.

A versatile defensive player renowned for her competitive nature, twenty-five year old Sharni Layton has been in the Australian Diamonds team for four years. Following four seasons as part of the ANZ Championship winning Adelaide Thunderbirds side, Layton has signed with the NSW Swifts for 2014.
Double world champion shooter Natalie Medhurst has been giving the Silver Ferns a headache ever since she first donned the green and gold dress in 2007.
Now with nine Test Caps to her name, Layton is sure to add to that tally being named in the Diamonds team for the Constellation Cup. She was in the 2010 & 2013 ANZ Championship premiership Thunderbirds team and named the 2010 ANZ Championship Best Young Talent.

A somewhat understated shooter, Medhurst gives the impression of having a cool demeanour which masks the fierce competitor beneath. Not a player to ever underestimate. In 2013, Medhurst was an integral part of the Queensland Firebirds line-up, helping shoot the team to the ANZ Championship Grand Final for the second time in three years. In 2014, Medhurst will ply her trade for the West Coast Fever her third ANZ Championship franchise. She was also in the 2011 ANZ Championship winning team for the Firebirds.

One of young crop of talented netballers coming up through the ranks in Australia, Kimberley Ravaillion made headlines with her outstanding ANZ Championship debut season for the Queensland Firebirds. Still only 20 years old, Ravaillion is a future star of the game in the mid-court. She has been named in the Diamonds Team to play in the Constellation Cup in 2013 and even played for the Diamonds before taking the court in the ANZ Championship.
After another stellar year, her third, with the Central Pulse in Wellington, Thwaites has earned her re-selection into the Diamonds team to play for the Constellation Cup. In the Australian squad for now her eighth year, it is perhaps a surprise that she has only one Test Cap to her name. In 2011, Thwaites played for the Diamonds against the World 7 side which was not considered an official test by Netball Australia. A member of the 2009 Vixens Premiership winning team, Thwaites will play for the NSW Swifts in 2014.
Ravaillion made her Diamonds debut against England in January when she stepped in for injured Captain Natalie von Bertouch. A product of New South Wales having represented the State at under 17, 19 & 21 levels, Ravaillion was part of the U21 side to contest the World Youth Netball Championships in Glasgow in August.
